From capturing countless iconic SLAM covers to creating some of the most renowned skate images of all time, whatever Atiba Jefferson snaps with his camera turns to art. Allen Iverson. Michael Jordan. Tony Hawk. Elijah Berle. Lil Wayne. Pharrell Williams. They’ve each had moments in time immortalized by the Colorado native’s hand.

The photographer and cultural documentarian’s imprint stretches far beyond the hardwood or a deck, infusing his vision and artistic direction across music, fashion and art. And his latest endeavor manages to reflect the multitude of mediums where he’s had an indelible impact: a collaborative collection with Vans.

Spanning timeless models and skate apparel, Atiba and Vans’ “United Through Skateboarding” collection serves as a tribute to the connections forged through skating. Pulling on the multihyphenate’s distinct visual language, the collection encapsulates the full breadth of Atiba’s creative journey from skate parks to stairs and railings around the world.

With more than 25 years behind the lens and a trove of era-defining imagery, Atiba dove into his personal archives to amplify the authenticity. Never-before-seen flicks from his expansive portfolio appear throughout the customized apparel and accessories, while Atiba’s legendary photo of John Cardiel’s 50-50 grind is incorporated into Vans Skate Halfcab and Skate Old Skool 36+. And graffiti icon Haze brings an added flair to the collection’s logo.

The world of creativity that Atiba operates within, and is now bringing to the masses, is strung together by a sense of community. Built on pavement, documented by creatives and celebrated for the freedom associated with it. The campaign for Atiba’s collection is a direct mirror to that community.

A diverse cast of skaters, artists, musicians and athletes, outfitted in the neutral and vibrant tones of Atiba’s collection, represent skateboarding’s ability to transcend backgrounds and lifestyles. We’re talking comedians and actors like Adam Devine, Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson linking up with former NBA point guard Baron Davis, Eagles tight end C.J. Uzomah and skateboarders like Lizzie Armanto and Zion Wright all captured under Atiba’s direction. United Through Skateboarding.

The Atiba x Vans: United Through Skateboarding collection is available now, with a second drop set to release on October 16.
