Well, when it finally comes down to all-time 3-point accuracy the inevitable happened. Stephen Curry passed Ray Allen for the League record by making more career 3-pointers, regular season, and playoffs combined, than any other player in history.
History was made Friday when Curry’s Golden State Warriors (11-2) took on the Chicago Bulls (9-4). Steph needed only two shots from long distance to break Allen’s record and that did not take long to achieve, taking the top spot over early in the second quarter knocking a 3-pointer down at the top of the key.

Curry went on to shoot 9-17 from behind the 3-point line on his way to 40 points in a 119-93 blowout win.
Curry passed Allen’s high watermark 3,358 made 3-pointers in 585 fewer games averaging 3.7 made 3-pointers per game for his career. Curry averages 5.2 made 3-pointers a game this season, putting him on his 2015-16 single-season record pace when he hit 402 for the season. He also owns five of the top-10 3-point shooting performances on the all-time list as well.
Besides the 2019-20 season when he played just five games because of a broken hand, Curry has never finished a season shooting worse than 41 percent from 3-point land or worse than 45 percent from the field.
Curry’s next opportunity to add to his historical totals will be on Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets.
