Michael Jordan Told a Rookie Rip Hamilton He Wasn’t Good Enough to Play in Jordans

If you’re gonna lace up Jordan shoes, your game better fit the mold.

On a recent episode of ESPN’s The Jump, Richard Hamilton discussed what it was like to play with Michael Jordan. When Rip was a rookie in Washington, MJ was finishing off his illustrious career. Apparently, the Hall of Fame trash talker told the young fella he wasn’t worthy of playing in Jordans. “My sneaker is for All Stars,” he claimed.

Maybe it was the motivation Rip needed, as he went on to make three straight All-Star teams from 2005-08 and eventually signed with Jordan Brand.
