For the third time in two weeks, Team USA beat up on China, this time defeating them 119-62 in Team USA’s first preliminary game. China jumped out to a 1-0 lead to start the game, but that didn’t last for long as USA poured it on over the next 40 minutes.
Kevin Durant led the way with 25 points and 6 assists, DeMarcus Cousins dropped 17 and grabbed 5 boards and DeMar DeRozan continued his posterization campaign with another huge dunk:

“I think when you get hot, you want to see your bench get excited for you,” Durant said via USA Basketball. “I think that’s better than making the shot, to be honest, and to see my teammates getting excited for me, that’s what kept me going. So, after the first one, they just kept telling me to shoot the ball, and Kyrie was trying to come to me every time. I think that is better than making the shot to be honest. So, the bench was great, and we played a good overall game.”
For China, former NBA player Yi Jianlin had 25 points.
In their previous two matchups, Team USA defeated China 106-57 and 107-57. Team USA’s next game is Monday, August 8 against Venezuela, who they beat 80-45 in July.
