In an intriguing recruiting battle that came down to Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Kansas, Malik Newman ultimately opted to sign with Mississippi State. The top ranked guard in the Class of 2015 made his commitment via live stream on Friday while surrounded by family, teammates and friends.

Newman capped an incredible senior season by winning his fourth consecutive Mississippi Class 5A state championship. Throughout the year, Malik has penned SLAM’s High School Diary.
