This past Wednesday night in a suite high up above the Barclays Center Herringbone court, while the Brooklyn Nets took on the visiting Miami Heat, Fila previewed their upcoming spring and fall 2013 offerings. And while the LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Co. wowed the crowd at large, some of Fila’s designs and colorways wowed the crowd—which included Raekwon, Pusha T, DJ Clark Kent, and others—in the suite. Some of the highlighted designs on display included multiple colorways of the Spaghetti (AKA the original Stack Mid), the 96 (AKA Grant Hill II) and the Cage, as well as plenty of lifestyle footwear.
Looking at the night in a vacuum, the celebrity-studded Brooklyn suite was a cool event for Fila. Looking at it in conjunction with other recent events—Jerry Stackhouse’s return to the brand; the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pack that debuted at a fresh party in NYC—and it’s safe to say that Fila is dedicated to resurrecting their historically signifigant basketball brand. Or as Louis Colon III, lifestyle product manager at Fila, said: “we’ve got some big things on the way.”
