The exorbitant ticket prices at Madison Square Garden for Knick games are no secret, but damn, $5,000 to watch them on Christmas from courtside? Yup. Reports the NY Daily News: “For anyone looking to wow their kids or impress a significant other, a courtside seat to the Knicks game on Christmas might be quite the gift. It would also cost $5,036, as of Thursday afternoon. That seat, the most expensive on the secondary market — made up of websites like StubHub — according to ticket analyst Chris Matcovich, director of data and communications at TiqIQ, would usually cost $4,121 if you purchased it directly from the Knicks. If your wallet is considerably lighter than Woody Allen’s or Spike Lee’s, and you still want to score a ducat on the secondary market, it will cost you, on average, $434 — a 31% increase from what other Knicks tickets, bought directly from the team, cost this season. The lowest secondary-market price for the Celtics-Knicks Christmas tilt was $148. There were still individual seats to be had through the Knicks as of Thursday, but no sets of two seats available.”
