A huge pick-up for Temple on Tuesday morning when Daniel Dingle, the top senior big man in New York City, chose the Owls over Big East and ACC schools. From the Philadelphia Inquirer: “Daniel Dingle, a senior at St. Raymond’s High School in the Bronx, gave an oral commitment to play basketball at Temple Tuesday morning. The 6-foot-7 forward chose the Owls over Miami, Auburn and Seton Hall. Dingle, the younger brother of former Massachusetts standout Dana Dingle, averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds last season. He becomes the third member of Temple’s 2012 recruiting class, joining Quenton DeCosey and Devontae Watson. DeCosey is a 6-5 swingman at St. Joseph in Metuchen (N.J.). Watson is a 6-9 center at Lincoln Park Charter, located in Western Pennsylvania. Wednesday is the first day that high school seniors can sign binding national letters of intent.”
