Translation: “Well, he’s too slow to guard anything on the perimeter, and we’re paying him way too much money to keep him on the bench (hello, Mr. Marbury!), so why the hell not?”

Mike Brown couldn’t coach Team USA to win the Eastern Conf.

  • luvshaq Posted: Oct.31 at 11:55 am
they gonna cross clone him with Zydrunas?

  • luvshaq Posted: Oct.31 at 12:12 pm
    boom

  • Holy Baller Posted: Oct.31 at 12:25 pm
You gotta be kidding me. This is ridiculous. Let’s start playing Ben Wallace at point guard now.

  • KobeStopper Posted: Oct.31 at 12:51 pm
    That blue and cream!

  • jaywhy Posted: Oct.31 at 12:55 pm
well he’s pretty big for a guard and struggles with his feet… it might actually work out with smaller PFs esp in the East…

  • Z Posted: Oct.31 at 1:03 pm
Smart move by Coach Brown. Get him to focus on something that’ll justify not playing him a whole lot and trade his expiring contract at the deadline for Michael Redd.

  • ranrice Posted: Oct.31 at 1:04 pm
    LMAO @ b.long

  • TADOne Posted: Oct.31 at 1:51 pm
I could outcoach Mike Brown. WTF?

  • johnk Posted: Oct.31 at 2:58 pm
    B. Long, are you aware that Mike Brown coached the Cavs to win the East? Little known fact I guess. They were a few points away from the conference finals last year as well. Wally is 6′7″, 240, but I agree that it won’t work. Make Bron defend the 4 when they go small.

  • jed Posted: Oct.31 at 3:43 pm
I don’t think it’s Wally being a PF per say, it’s just that when the Cavs go small, no team is going to guard Lebron with a power forward so the duties guarding Wally fall to the power forward. That’s what at least happened against the Celtics; instead of KG checking Lebron, Pierce stayed with that assignment and KG guarded Wally. I doubt Wally is going to be asked to play like a power forward, protecting the rim, cleaning up the boards, setting screen after screen and so on. Why does there need to be a designated PF in the lineup formation anyway? When the frontcourt goes Big and then Wally and Lebron, that’s a two SF lineup.

  • riggs Posted: Oct.31 at 3:43 pm
if by coached, you mean sat back and let lebron handle it, then yes, he coached his ASS off.

  • Z Posted: Oct.31 at 3:44 pm
Why isn’t anyone giving props to Mike Brown for the Cavs’ team D?

  • LA Huey Posted: Oct.31 at 6:01 pm
Everyone knows Wally is just a contract being shopped. He has no other value, nothing he can do at this point will inflate his value. He’s an inconsistent shooter and with the glut of guards they already have (Mo Williams, Gibson, Delonte, and that guy from 28 Days Later), Cleveland should just bench him.

    Good Strategery… a Bush-ism

  • Bro D. Posted: Oct.31 at 8:07 pm
Wally would prove all you haters wrong if they’d let him play in his shades, those arena lights are awful bright on our white boy irises.

  • Joe Posted: Oct.31 at 8:12 pm
johnk, your plan wouldn’t work, as you used the words ‘Bron’ and ‘defend’ in the same sentance.

“I like banging with the big guys,” Szczerbiak said. …oh wally…

  • Moose Posted: Nov.1 at 8:58 am
Um, no. First of all, you kinda need to play good defense if you’re a post guy . . . and Wally has absolutely NO d.

  • youngmuggsy Posted: Nov.1 at 9:00 am
LA Huey: inconsistant shooter, are you serious?

  • B. Long Posted: Nov.1 at 2:00 pm
@johnK: That had nothing to do with Browns coaching and everything to do with LeBron’s beasting.

  • Dacre Posted: Nov.2 at 9:54 am
…i dont understand how wally world is still in the league.
