KG And TMac Want You To Vote

Even the right foot leans to the left.

Rock the vote!

by Chris O’Leary

When the Celtics and Rockets tip off on Nov. 4 in Houston, Kevin Garnett and Tracy McGrady will be making their voices heard with some politically charged special edition TS Commander (KG) and Creator (TMac) sneakers.

Both showing support for Barack Obama, T-Mac’s shoe will have “CHANGE IS TMac and Garnett for the presNEEDED VOTE ‘08″ written on it. Garnett’s will have “EMBRACE CHANGE VOTE ‘08″ on his. Both have white and blue stars prominently displayed on different parts of the shoe.

After the game, KG and T-Mac will each sign and personalize one of the shoes that they wore and adidas will be sending the pair to Obama.

You might not be able to send the politician of your choice shoes, but you can send them votes (assuming you’re an American who’s registered to vote). So go and do that on Nov. 4.
For reasons that are beyond me, there were no special edition sneakers (or even hockey skates) made up for the recent Canadian federal election.

Veeeeery cool. This is so much better than Jordan’s dumbass “Republicans buy sneakers too” comment. Melo needs to learn from these guys.

I like Tmac’s shoes better overall, but KG’s message more, it just seems more simplified and ‘clean cut’.

I didn’t see a link to an article to confirm – but if they’re going to make this “statement” and sneaks debut on the date of the election (Nov.4) ….. sorry I just can’t spell it out for you.

Because their were now Hockey Skates made, Canada had its lowest voter turnout ever.

  • Canada Posted: Oct.31 at 12:26 pm
    no*

  • Chris O'Leary Posted: Oct.31 at 12:55 pm
Canada, I think that’s it exactly. Sneakers = voter turnout. And maybe charismatic candidates. At least one.
