The Orlando Magic Are Thinking Championship

“We do talk about winning a championship,” Van Gundy said. “We did win 50 (52) games. If you’re not talking championship, you shouldn’t be out here.”

  • O.k Posted: Sep.30 at 11:08 am
Yo this is wrong you know it’s gonna be either Boston, L.A, or Houston

  • What.. Posted: Sep.30 at 11:10 am
you mean one POINT guard away..

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.30 at 11:38 am
    Atlantic Division Champion?

  • airs Posted: Sep.30 at 11:38 am
    ahem, indeed. a point.

  • B. Long Posted: Sep.30 at 11:47 am
@O.k:TMac’s shoulder just eliminated them from that list.

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.30 at 11:48 am
    It’s his left shoulder.

  • B. Long Posted: Sep.30 at 11:49 am
And I don’t think they really have a shot this year but teams have won championships with worse point guard’s than Jameer Nelson.

  • airs Posted: Sep.30 at 11:54 am
true but dwights offensive inconsistencies and rashard lewis’ inability to do more than a quiet 18 pt game is gonna hold them back. but they got hedo. HEDOOOOOOOO!

  • B. Long Posted: Sep.30 at 11:59 am
My name is orange now. Weird.

    The Answer.

  • what Posted: Sep.30 at 1:52 pm
I would be proud if I was them and won the Atlantic Division… I don’t know if a Southeast Division team has ever done that before.

  • daveeey Posted: Sep.30 at 2:38 pm
    jameer can’t get it done

  • James aka The Artist Formerly Known as Krayzie Bone Posted: Sep.30 at 2:58 pm
What: that was very well done. Bravo

  • TADOne Posted: Sep.30 at 3:46 pm
Atlantic/Southeast….whatever. It won’t be an NBA Championship.

  • $tev3 Posted: Sep.30 at 4:16 pm
    ANT0N I LIKE THE WAY U THINK

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Sep.30 at 5:03 pm
If that’s the short list, O.k., then Boston will repeat because neither of those other teams you mentioned are a threat. Also, the balance of power has shifted, no? The west doesn’t seem like the threat they were for the past decade and with Boston running things, Detroit still solid, and Orlando, Philly, and Cleveland getting better, the East might be the beast this year.

  • Moose Posted: Sep.30 at 6:09 pm
Young Chris MP3: No. The East is NOT the threat.

  • Paps Posted: Sep.30 at 6:09 pm
    Keep dreaming Magic.

  • The Frozen 1 Posted: Sep.30 at 6:26 pm
Yea, & I’m thinking that I just might be a better president than both Obama & McCain, but it just ain’t gonna happen.

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Sep.30 at 7:00 pm
Moose, The Spurs and Shaq-era Lakers were the only dominant teams out West since the lock-out. Since then, there was a period where the West was STACKED, the Trailblazers and Hornets are the future, but Dallas, Phoenix, Sacremento, and any other team that looked like they were a year or two away missed out on whatever chance they had to do it. The Lakers don’t have the heart and the Spurs are aging with each passing year. The East, right now, has four teams that have a solid chance of winning in the Finals if they get that far. Who out West can honestly beat the Celtics? Detroit is solid, even if they are aging about as well as the Spurs are, and Philly and Orlando have the talent to get it done (even if that’s surprising to some). I honestly think New Orleans is the best bet for a championship team out West this year.

  • MyKal Posted: Sep.30 at 7:09 pm
“the Spurs are aging with each passing year” as opposed to every other team in the league who’s players are mysteriously getting younger.

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Sep.30 at 7:53 pm
By aging, I think it was clear I meant, vastly.

  • Dacre Posted: Sep.30 at 9:12 pm
PHX only have 4 players over 30 yrs and are heavy on playoff experience…is anyone hungrier than Nashty and STAT(perhaps Eddie Curry at In&Out…?) for a ring?
LAKERS have Kobe. End of story.
BOSTON. Of course you want to repeat when your the reigning champ. But if you can’t pull out anything new in your bag of tracks you might be left wanting…(Darius Miles by the way doesn’t fit under the title of “something new”.
DET and SAS. These two teams have fought each other in a finals series (or anyone else for that matter) for the last time, atleast for the next half a decade or so. I don’t see Popovich hanging around much longer if Tim Duncan is winding down his career now. They can thank each other for their entries to the HOF in advance.
CLEVELAND. They are one ‘LeBron James Tailored Superstar Side Kick’ LJTSSK away from regular appearances in the NBA finals. They need to fill that position NOW for LeBron to stay put, and to make his out of this world ability even half way worth while on planet earth.

  • Dacre Posted: Sep.30 at 9:25 pm
ATL, ORL, DEN, MILWAUKEE, GS, CHICAGO - All of these teams could be alot worse or even alot better than they were last season. They have tried to fill gaps, that have come up as FA’s move else where and through their selections in the draft. Generally, there’s nothing better than fresh legs in the practice gym and a new face in the coaches suit to promote success again and I expect Chigaco to be the suprise pick amongst these teams in the upcoming season. ORLANDO will be in the running for another 50 win season. Dwight Howard will again be the anchor for that, if their backcourt can become a “top 3″ outfit in the East then expect them to make a run at Detroit for a spot in the ECF this year [Boston vs Cleveland, Orlando vs Detroit].

  • RR Posted: Sep.30 at 9:51 pm
I don’t know about championship but it wouldn’t suprise me. Also jameer can get it done ya’ll gonna see this year he gonna average around 12 and 7 which is pretty good considering all the talent on the team

  • brooklyn Posted: Sep.30 at 11:37 pm
    lmaoo0o cough cough**

  • Dacre Posted: Oct.1 at 12:33 am
RR: Does that mean his numbers will be say….
    11.7 ppg and 6.7 apg?
Kind of average…considering all the talent on that team… he should be passing it to Dwight atleast 15 times a game. Rashard Lewis atleast 10 times a game….

  • Dacre Posted: Oct.1 at 12:40 am
Just so you know…his numbers during the playoffs last season were 16 ppg 4 reb 5 apg so not too shabby really… Could be a sign of things to come…it’s going to depend really on who the 2 guard is going to be… VACANT sign right there for now.

  • Dacre Posted: Oct.1 at 12:42 am
As a final point…let me clarify that when i said PASSING to…I wasn’t refering to his ASSIST totals….But if he is making key passes to an open Lewis, or cutting Howard he should be able to average ATLEAST 7 assists a game…purely of their play alone…?!

  • ENDS Posted: Oct.1 at 12:46 am
What the Hell are they supposed to say were hoping fora second round knock out. Come on!

  • jub_al Posted: Oct.1 at 5:01 am
