Gerard Himself says:
I don’t know what to say, I am shocked.

Jul.2 at 11:05 am

Earl "E.Sneed" Sneed says:
The D needs young athleticism, I love this deal!

Jul.2 at 11:06 am

Squirrel7 says:
I make that 4 teams in a year or so. Maybe he’d be better off living in a trailer….

Jul.2 at 11:06 am

Rasheedionics says:
Championship!

Jul.2 at 11:07 am

Dark says:
Now there is a player that fits alongside JKidd.

Jul.2 at 11:08 am

Earl "E.Sneed" Sneed says:
exactly Dark!

Jul.2 at 11:10 am

Jukai says:
Cool, so Gerald Green can stay on the bench of another team??

Jul.2 at 11:10 am

Sesa says:
Time to release Josh “High” Howard

Jul.2 at 11:12 am

riggs says:
as much as im glad that hes in a team he shouldnt be on the mavs, theres many other teams who need him more and have positive role models to guide him….a la boston ;)

Jul.2 at 11:12 am

Earl "E.Sneed" Sneed says:
either J-Ho will get traded, or JET, Stack, and Jones…I’d bet on Terry or Jones, but J-Ho has the most trade value…

Jul.2 at 11:13 am

Gerard Himself says:
happens everyday that a quality small forward is being released, good thinking.

Jul.2 at 11:13 am

Earl "E.Sneed" Sneed says:
Riggs: Boston let him go already!

Jul.2 at 11:13 am

Squirrel7 says:
I’m assuming Rasheedionics is kidding, as this doesn’t improve the Mavs any way whatsoever.

Jul.2 at 11:16 am

Earl "E.Sneed" Sneed says:
Not championship quality, but it is definitely a good step for a team that never does anything in the offseason…they got more athletic and younger with this deal, which they sorely needed

Jul.2 at 11:20 am

Squirrel7 says:
I don’t see how this makes them stronger though, they hope he’s the new Brandon Bass, when the ACTUAL Brandon Bass hasn’t exactly ‘arrived’ yet…. And it’s not good that his biggest attribute is an average 36% from deep, for his career!

Jul.2 at 11:33 am

Mo Charlo says:
His biggest attribute is dunking.

Jul.2 at 11:36 am

Squirrel7 says:
Dunking in a clear lane, maybe. Throwing them down in traffic is a little different. But what I actually meant was that the first attribute mentioned in that article was that he brings a 36% carrer 3-point average with him. I’m well aware he’s more of a dunker, but you need more tools than that to make a big difference….

Jul.2 at 11:41 am

Earl "E.Sneed" Sneed says:
Squirrel…he is playing next to a former MVP, who can shoot from anywhere, and a Hall-of-fame PG that can run and put it above the rim for him, and they have good shooters to space the court….he doesn’t have to do much! While I don’t think Dirk is the No.1 guy, this is not a bad signing if you are looking to add something that the team doesn’t already have!

Jul.2 at 11:45 am

D.J. says:
A young athlete…ok thats one thing but what about the other million pieces to win a title? i’ll take agent zero for 200 alex.

Jul.2 at 11:45 am

Squirrel7 says:
You’re right, he doesn’t have much to do. So why on earth are people claiming this trade makes any kinda difference to the Mavs playoff chances?

Jul.2 at 11:46 am

Squirrel7 says:
Scratch that, I meant to their Championship chances.

Jul.2 at 11:48 am

Earl "E.Sneed" Sneed says:
much better Squirrel…they’ll be a playoff team, but they definitely still have a ways to go to win a title

Jul.2 at 11:48 am

Arthur Rimbaud Jr. says:
Maybe he’ll turn into the next Bruce Bowen.

Jul.2 at 11:49 am

Squirrel7 says:
And they were a playoff team anyway (just about), so I really don’t see what he’s bringing to the table….

Jul.2 at 11:49 am

Arthur Rimbaud Jr. says:
Maybe not.

Jul.2 at 11:51 am

Earl "E.Sneed" Sneed says:
even he has a good year 12-15ppg(which isn’t farfetched because he put up close to 11 in Beantown), he will be a key piece for their picture and add much needed young depth

Jul.2 at 11:53 am

Earl "E.Sneed" Sneed says:
he still has the upside that he had when he came into the L

Jul.2 at 11:55 am

Captain America says:
Like Gerald but not optimistic

Jul.2 at 12:01 pm

DP says:
At least he will get some playing time…Josh Howard better stop hitting the trees and notice that they are brining in some people that can take his spot.

Jul.2 at 12:03 pm

niQ says:
will he even get playing time tho?

Jul.2 at 12:03 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
His four minutes a game will make all the difference.

Jul.2 at 12:10 pm

phil says:
I like adding the youth to the team, but at least get a guy with half of a jump shot.

Jul.2 at 12:18 pm

TADOne says:
Yeah, Gerald Green is the answer! Brilliant!!!!

Jul.2 at 12:22 pm

albie1kenobi says:
i say trade josh howard for artest. that’ll make them a legit contender right?

Jul.2 at 12:54 pm

Nique says:
Well…I’m just waiting for him to break out. Wherever he goes he never gets any playing time. I think he’s got potential. Maybe Rick will like him…I know J-Kidd will!

Jul.2 at 12:56 pm

Nick says:
i would love ron ron in a mavs uni, maily so i can guess what he will switch his number to this time!

Jul.2 at 2:15 pm

People's Princess says:
Now we’ll get to the bottom of the “Do K-Mart and RJ owe their contracts to J Kidd???” conundrum.Po

Jul.2 at 2:23 pm

Dallas J says:
Squirrel7- You may be the only person on Earth thinking about the Mavs Championship chances this upcoming season.. we need to be entertaining, competitive, make the playoffs, have the best rebuilding year ever. Green helps that cause with his youth and athleticism. How can you not see him helping? Old man Stack has had the best dunks for the past 2yrs and you don’t see how Green helps?.. weird.

Jul.2 at 2:42 pm

ciolkstar says:
Gerald can play. The worst thing about his game is his shot selection. The thing is he’s always been on terrible teams, where they are always losing and usually struggling to score. On a strong offensive team with legitiomate 1st and 2nd options Gerald could contribute. I actually would’ve loved for the Spurs to pick the guy up.
The mavs have no 1st round picks for awhile, this was a smart move.

Jul.2 at 2:44 pm

ciolkstar says:
Plus he’s from Texas. Brandon Bass is a beast too, someone was hating on him during the comments but that was a similarly smart pickup last year that will continue to pay dividends.

Jul.2 at 4:40 pm

Gerald Green says:
I’m Happy that I finally made it to a team this time I plan on playing 7 whole minutes per game

Jul.2 at 4:42 pm

cyanide says:
have him and j.r. smith on the same team

Jul.2 at 5:58 pm

D.J. says:
believe me im not against this move…he’s what the mavs needed the past few years…Athleticism, youth, & excitment…but his shot selection is very questionable, i could see em backin up josh howard. I questioned the mavs gettin Brandon Bass n i was VERY wrong, so i guess they’re hopin to develop gerald greens’ talents. We’ll see what happens.

Jul.2 at 6:21 pm

Jackie Moon says:
Place a cupcake on the rim, and he is fantastic.

Jul.2 at 7:01 pm

maik says:
@earl,but it wasnt exactly the championship celtics team he had almost 11ppg for. but he could play a role from the bench and maybe give them momentum with dunks. but championship? NO and i m from germany…

Dacre says:
So Dallas have 9 players under contract (including Eddie Jones if he does stay..) and ONE centre (Erick Dampier anyone..?)
….okaayyy… your move Cuban.
Me thinks you need some help there to go ANYWHERE near the playoffs this year.

Jul.2 at 11:08 pm

maik says:
@dacre:cause dalles got dirk and that should make me like them right and be a fan? i like dirk and he will probably be the best player out off germany forever, but i still dont think they will have a chance with that team.plus i dont care about soccer.basketball is my sport.
