D-Wade Wants Someone Else to Bring Up the Ball

by Marcel Mutoni

Dwyane Wade is quite obviously the do-it-all guy for the Heat. He’s not only the team’s leading scorer and its emotional leader, but he must also initiate the offense. Well, it looks like the man wants to do a little bit less.

D-Wade would like for the Heat to find someone else to jumpstart their offense.

Despite starting his NBA career as a point guard, Wade reiterated he has no desire to return to the position.

“Do I want to set up the offense every time? No, I don’t want to do that,” he said, as his basketball camp wound down at Florida International University. “I would love to get somebody else in that can handle the ball, as well, at times, and make plays.”

Ouch. Another tragic blow to Chris Quinn’s self-confidence. When will it stop?

In all seriousness, though, Wade is right to ask this of the team. They can ill-afford for him to risk any more injuries by having him take on so much responsibility at the offensive end. Start working those phones, Riley!

They should enter the Chris Duhon bidding war. It’s not too late! (Or trade Marion for Marbury.)

Hey Russ, are you putting on an Isiah imitation? Doing a good job there! That marion for marbs trade would really work

Want D-Wade wants, D-Wade should get. He’s one of the best gamers in the League.

Captain America says:
Get a pg who can deliver the rock with some time left on the shot clock. Anthony Carter from Denver could fit short term while Mario Chambers learns and develops.

Mario Chalmers He’s straight legit. Riley was smart to get him, he was supposed to go first round.

D-Wade’s comment through Shoal’s translation machine : We should have tried to trade for DRose or just draft Mayo straight up. 26 and 12 is nothing to me.

if the heat take this seriously, they should make a run at monta ellis or ben gordon. those guys arent bad point guards, and they can both shoot the ball.

Grab Kirk Hinrich(pg run that off.) and Tyrus Thomas. Trade Marion. Then try and get Magette in free Agency

Trade Marion for Hinrich and Thomas. Then grab Corey Maggette.

Jul.4 at 8:17 pm

Moose says:
is marion still begging to be traded? probably not now, with him, d-wade, beasley, udonis and rick davis the heat will be pretty interesting.

Jul.4 at 8:55 pm

Rob Wells Jr. says:
If Wade gets a solid pg he can work off the ball. If Wade developes a jump shot he’ll be the most dangerous player in the NBA next to Kobe and Lebron. But i still hope Wade gets his assist being the playmaker he is.

Marion and Davis put together in a deal could get a great PG.

look i see it like this look for a good center and start super mario(if that dont work, they can go back to j-will if hes still there). OR get a good point and keep blount as a starter. or they can go goldenstate and just have Haslem a 5,Marion 4, Beasly 3, Wade and super mario(or j-will) fastbreak offense

Teddy-the-Bear says:
Marcel, why’d you write the bit about phoning for Pat Riley? What’s he’s going to do instead is hire some guy under him to make all the decisions so that if the outcomes hurt the team, he has someone to blame. On the flip side, when the “mystery man” under him makes a good decision and the Heat team is back to winning, he’ll fire the dude and gain all the credit for it. Stan Van Gundy, anyone?

Jul.5 at 2:03 am

Teddy-the-Bear says:
And Jose, the if the Heat did that they would get killed on the defensive end. Haslem is definitely not tall enough to guard the other 5’s in the league.

if they trade jwill, then i could probably stop pretending that i care about the heat…

chris quinn is a poor mans luke ridnour, but more spectaclur

Jul.6 at 9:28 pm

Moose, come on, Ben Gordon as your point guard? That’s exactly what the Heat doesn’t need.

Jul.7 at 1:29 am

Reggie Evans says:
Players should just play and stop requesting things.

youngmuggsy says:
No matter who they get to bring the ball up the court, D-Wade’s still gonna find a way to turn the ball over.
