Completely agree with iLL wiLL. The Raptors are the only logical choice. They need toughness so bad. The Cavs can have TJ Ford.

I wouldn’t call a flopper toughness. Raptor’s are a finesse team anyways, what they need is a slashing wingman like Maggette or something.

Joel O's says:
As a TO resident and ardent watcher of Raptor games, I think the Raptors could definitely do with a guy like Varejao. TJ would fit well with the Cavs if they push the tempo… but I don’t think he’s really an upgrade over Delonte.

Cleveland have two young building blocks like Daniel Gibson and Damon Jones. Gibson 08′ rookie/soph game MVP and did well in the 3 point shootout why would you get rid of varejao for a new point.

@AC: Don’t you think the TJ Ford drama last season hurt the team? Clearly, he’s the 2nd best point guard on the Raptors - though admittedly not by much. He just doesn’t suit the Raptors as they are built now. TJ was brought in when Smitch / Colangelo initially wanted to turn the Raptors into a faux-Suns, pushing the tempo non-stop and shooting the ball a few seconds into the shot clock.
Jun.22 at 11:10 am
Joel O's says:
A dozen or so games in, and nearly as many losses, that experiment ended. Instead, over the last season and a half, the Raptors’ve turned instead into a 3-point shooting team. This is why Calderon is shining more than TJ right now. TJ is a tough sonovab*tch with ridiculous speed. He’s Bosh’s pal. But he wasn’t happy with his minutes last season, and his penchant to over-dribble doesn’t fit with a team of shooters. If we can trade him for a proven rebounder, it’ll be tough to see him go but you know it’ll be good for the Raps.
Jun.22 at 11:15 am
Joel O's says:
Plus look at what the Raps most sorely need: muscle. The only guy in the Roster who you’d expect to grab 10 rebounds is Chris Bosh. Outside of that, all we’ve got are Rasho and Humphries. Not enough. That’s why even though we’ve made the playoffs 2 years straight, we’ve been soundly beaten - we’re soft as heck. With only ONE rebounding threat, Jersey’s mediocre but bigger frontline ganged up on Bosh and made him look stupid. Same story this year - CB4, being the only guy remotely capable of covering Howard, was clearly out of his wispy comfort zone, and got manhandled.

Plus he would make it possible to release/move wally world. I think he has an expiring contract anyway. Kapono Making him expendable next season they would have more room to go after a great player. Sense kapono has a smaller salary then wally. plus kapono has played for the cavs once before. he was drafted by them second round in 2003 after lebron.
