Garbajosa’s leg isn’t healthy enough to pass an NBA physical at this point, I remember reading, so a trade really wouldn’t work out. Unless he’s an expiring contract (which I think he is??!?!).

hey starbury&stevey, you should watch a Raptors game before you say anything, Garbo was a tough guy who was not afraid to foul hard and get into the paint. In fact, he is a decent defensive player before his injury.

I dont see Garbo coming back to TO next season. I loved his play and he was a solid player 2 seasons ago when the Raps turned it around. I like Garbo, but he shouldnt have played for Spain last summer - should have had surgery and got ready for the season. That could have cost him his contract (which has one year left) and although he is a good player and plays defense and gives it all on every posession, I think that, unfortunately, not only his days as a Rap are numbered, but possibly his days in the L. I still feel sick everytime I see/think of his injury - so unfortunate. I hope he can stay in the L, and I would like him back in TO if hes healthy.

A few guys up there talking smack obviously never watched the Raptors (and Jorge Garbajosa) play in the 06-07 season. The dude is tough. Inside/outside game, great passer AND defender. He brought the toughness everynight (both mental and physical) that the team desperately needed, and lacked this season without him. As far as his decision to play for the Spanish National Team last summer….I lost all respect for the guy on that one. The tournament didn’t matter for his team at all! They won the worlds in 06, so the European Championships in 07 didn’t mean squat! They already had their spots for Beijing 08′ booked on account of dominating the world in 06 (big ups to Jose Calderon on that one!). He loves Spain too much though. One and done in the NBA, you don’t see that too often (when the player is successful at least).

whoever said garbo was one of the many europeans that wasnt tough was so wrong haha. hes one of the toughest players in the league which isnt sayin to much but hes still a pretty tough guy.
