Worthy of Your Attention

by Marcel Mutoni

Were this any other series, tonight’s Game Two in Boston would be considered a “Must-Win” for the Pistons. But since we’re dealing with the road-challenged Celtics, Detroit can rest easy in the knowledge that, in all likelihood, this baby will be coming back to Beantown all knotted up.

The C’s insist that Ray Allen should keep shooting, and they’re right (he should), but it will be interesting to see how much longer they can survive his nightly 30% from the field abortions.

(Get it together, Ray. A jumpshot that pretty should never clang off the rim this much. Do it for the kids!)

For the Pistons, the main concern is Chauncey Billups’s groin, and his ability to play through the pain. According to CB, he’ll be more aggressive tonight than he was in the series opener. I wouldn’t bet against him.

All things considered, the C’s should win tonight. Whether that will mean anything by Game Five, though, remains to be seen.

Sheed Almighty will carry them to victory.

Sheed needs to turn up for game 2, Billups is their most important player IMO.

Joe Mama says:
Billups will find his swag tonight against Rondo and House. He’s coming off an injury during the playoffs, of course he’ll need a game to get back!
I mean, don’t we (real ballers) want a rematch of the SA/Detroit series?!?
Kobe winning his own title? That’s blasphemy!
It’s in revelations people!

I don’t think the Pistons consider this a series until game 5. I know just because it’s DETROIT everybody thinks they can win on the road, but can I add that their playoff road wins have been against the 76ers and the Magic! The 76ers and the Magic People!

I know KG just had a baby and stuff and I was just wondering if he is like super intense at fathering too? Like, does he put baby powder on his hands when he is changing diapers and then clap a powder ball in the babys face? I bet he bangs his chest after he loads the Diaper Genie.

Ray Allen will go for 20+ tonight, with at least 3 triples and we all can admire his sweet J once again.

May.22 at 5:17 pm

Jukai says:
It’s going to be the exact thing as game one. Ray hitting bricks but the Cs will win cause Pierce/Garnett will dominate the Cs cause Tayshun can’t handle double P and Rasheed is THE MOST OVERRATED PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE. If Billups is healthy, it’ll make it a game, but Detroit probably wont take thing sserious until they’re down by two games.

Has anyone checked whether Ray Allen is actually Ray Allen? I’m starting to get suspicious.

May.22 at 6:46 pm

G Diesel says:
Ray Allen is joining the likes of Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Bonzi Wells, Shareef Abdul-Rahim, etc, to the basketball graveyard.

May.22 at 7:04 pm

DP says:
Silky Ray is shooting like a current Sonic right now: Kevin Durant. damn this isn’t a good look for him. Ray for sure needs to drive to the hole more this game like he did in game one.

@G Diesel: Sam I Aint must be the crypt keeper there.

May.22 at 7:16 pm

Diogo says:
I didn’t know Sheed even had a rating. G Diesel, HA! Was Bonzi Wells ever as good as Ray? (btw, there is no such thing as a basketball graveyard. It’s only the Knicks)

May.22 at 9:36 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
I’m actually pretty sure Ray Allen’s talent was stolen by those critters from Space Jam. Someone call Michael Jordan and Bill Murray.

Russ Bengtson says:
Also, I’m not entirely sure this game was worthy of my attention. My attention is fairly valuable.

All we needed was one and we got it. Although we will probably drop on at the palace, I’m still confident we can win in six or seven.

tealish says:
Yup. I knew Ray was going to play well tonight. I didn’t think that the big 3 could combine for 75 and still lose though.

It helps that Chauncy has the range and expeirence but I strongly believe that Stucky has the ability to step up IF needed. O yea Marcel Mutoni, Chuncy pulld his right hamstring. GO PISTONS

This is from SI.com Vault (http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1006749/index.htm)
Garnett says he can adjust to any team, but he thinks a nice place to play would be Toronto, where he would be under the care and feeding of Raptor general manager Isiah Thomas, a Chicago native. “Wherever I go, it’ll be an opportunity,” says Garnett. “Millions of kids want to play pro basketball, and here I am getting the chance early. I learned one thing—never hate a positive option.” KG, that´s the best proof of mistakes you make while growing up:)
KG must thank God EVERY night that his above stated wish didn´t come true… Seriously.

May.23 at 9:12 am

whitewater says:
Sheed, and Prince can take over a game at any time. Sheed has range and he is a real post player. Prince can hit the 3, play D, and Post. then we got the bench wich has the ability to score. As long as the Pistons can keep KG and P-Double in check the Pistons can take the East.

ciolkstar says:
I really wish i could still root for KG, as he’s been one of my fav players since he came in L. Actually, it started when i read a quick little profile about him while he was still in high school. Skinny as hell, hanging from the rim, screaming (no surprise there) But something about the Celtics in general, and this whole “superteam built from individually unsuccessful stars” reincarnation (LA, MIA)just pisses me off. Like that block in transition in the 1st/2nd quarter last night, that was amazing but I really couldn’t get excited about it.
