Worthy of Your Attention
Monumental.
That seems like the appropriate word for tonight’s festivities; just ask Larry Bird and Kevin McHale.
Cavs @ Celtics, Game 5: You all know what happened the last time LeBron James found himself in a Game Five, on the road, against a team that was supposed to beat his Cavs.
Realistically, no one expects James to re-create the heroics in Detroit last year, but the Celtics should be plenty worried tonight. Boston may be perfect at home so far in these Playoffs, but they have not performed the way a 66-win team should.
While they’re still favored to win the series, Boston continues to struggle offensively as a unit, and those dreaded questions about Kevin Garnett’s nagging tendency to shrink away from the moment in the fourth quarter remain unanswered.
Jazz @ Lakers, Game 5: Bad back or not, Kobe is going to suit up tonight. As if there was ever any doubt. How effective he’ll be remains to be seen. More to the point, it’ll be interesting to see if he sticks to the team game should the Lakers fall behind in the late stages of the battle.
The Jazz know that all of the pressure in on L.A. tonight, and they have gained quite a bit of confidence from the last two victories. With a banged-up Bryant, and their shots starting to fall with a little bit more consistency, Utah has every right to feel good about themselves. Here’s to hoping they don’t feel too good.

Who will win this series? It depends on who doesn’t show up.

I hoping tonight encapsulates why I love LeBron and detest Kobe. I just hope Lebron becomes the overpowering force of nature that he can be when at his best and that the ailing Kobe reverts to the one-man-army mentality (atleast in the clutch) Although, for some reason I really really don’t like the Jazz. (Outside of Ronnie Brewer and D-Will and Millsap) It might just be residual comtempt for Stockton-Malone.

I think the Cavs would be happy if LeBron shows up with half the performance he had in Game 5 of last year’s semis. I know Boston’s D is solid despite their faulterings on the road, but a line of 25/7/7 on close to 50% shooting should not be too much to ask for any true superstar - let alone the unstoppable force of Bron.

This Just In-Kobe Bryant had Tony Stark build him a new back special for tonight’s game. Maybe if he built Pau a heart he wouldn’t have been soft like a mushroom last game.

Jake, in all fairness, Pau does give a mean scrowl to the zebras when the whistles doesn’t naturally follow a missed baby hook.

I am already nervous about the game tonight. And by “the game”, I don’t mean the 76-70 thriller in the East.

Tonight will be one of those nights that people will always remember Kobe for. Good or Bad. That being said, I fully expect him to rip AK’s heart out tonight. Show up Pau, this is why we brought you here!

I got the Celtics and the Jazz. I just think LA is reeling a little and Utah has a lot of momentum. if they do steal this game, I think they will close it out in 6. if not, I see the Lakers winnin in 7. Now, for Boston to win tonight, they must double Bron like they have the whole series and hope his teammates left their game at home. That simple. If Boston does win tonight, they will take it in 6. If they dont, I still see them winnin it anyways in 7. They are the better team and they will show that tonight.

If KG gets dunked on like that again without jumping, his Defensive POY award needs to be reposessed. Zo got banged on but at least that man jumped. I can still respect that. I can’t respect a guy who huffs and puffs about intensity all year and then lets sweaty nutsack get shoved in his face with no attempt at resistance. Man the Fu(k up!

Diesel, that is very old and been thrown around on Kobe and KG, by Kevin Harlan. i still remember Kobe with the baseline windmill slam against the knicks, and Harlan said the same thing. I have a weird feeling about the Laker game tonight, cant really describe it.

I still can’t believe the Lakers let Ashton beat them in that last game. They need to put Kobe on him whenever he’s in the game because kid is deadly. As for the Celtics,it appears that they forgot they were supposed to win the whole thing this year.Like Tyrese said in 2 Fast 2 Furious they don’t seem to be”Hongray’.If Cleveland wins the series,I’ve got another quote ready..”This day,is a day of infamy”.KG might eat himself if he loses this time.

RV says:
No way the Jazz steal this one, even with an aching kobe, the jazz had enough trouble with the wins in Utah, they let the lakers come back, a bounce or two going in a different direction and this series is easily 3-1. The pressure is on Utah, the Lakers, although down after a close loss, have to feel good because Utah has not been able to close them out completely.

I like the way they say Kobe will bust ass because I don’t see Kobe letting his team go out without the W. I don’t think I am going to be able to watch the game(I know this is a p*ssy move) because I am kind of scared. I’m kind of confused at this moment.

just watch the game. why be a fan if your not going to watch the game?
May.14 at 9:19 pm
RV says:
There’s nothing to be scared about as a Laker fan DP, the lakers haven’t had trouble with the Jazz this series, they came up just short both in game 3 and 4 and that was only due to homecourt, otherwise booze and co. fold just like they did in game 1 and 2. As long as its just a who outscores who type of game, the Lakers are in the driver’s seat.

I gotta really say right now that Brown really takes the cake for horrendous, horrible coaching. Wallace and Ilgaskus are in the game and limit the Celtics from scoring anything, and yet Varejos and Smith come in, and Cleveland goes down by ten… and they don’t freaking come in until 7 minutes left in the game. What??

Kobe with a bad back plays a lot more like MJ. Kobe has yet to regularly demonstrate that kind of, I guess, calmness, while still being aggressive.

Wow I know everbody is gonna talk trash but honestly Kobe gets breathed on wrng and it’s a foul Gasol constantly pushed off and nothing called what the #$^& ESPN must really want to see Boston VS. And to think back to the Laker fans who complained about officiating after Game 4… In close games when a team shoots 50% more FTs than you, they’re going to beat ya. Boozer also needs to show up fast.

did anyone else notice the lineups to start the 4th quarter in LA? walton, vujacic, Gasol, Radmonavich, and farmar vs Okur, Harping, Kierlenko, corver and williams. when’s the last time you seen 8 white guys in a playoff game at the same time? the only one left out of this was chris mihm.

The refs gave this game to the Lakers. Gasol’s ‘great plays’ were 2 over the back calls that the refs ignored. Boozer did suck it up, but he wasn’t getting calls either.
