Worthy of Your Attention
We have a pair of Game Two’s tonight, and at least one of them should be more than watchable.
Magic @ Pistons, Game 2: In what is threatening to turn into one of the least-watched Playoff series ever - Detroit seems to be involved in a lot of these ratings disasters, don’t they? - Theo Ratliff and Rashard Lewis have their done their best to get us to pay attention. Sorry fellas, beef or no beef, your names are still Theo Ratliff and Rashard Lewis.
The Pistons seems to have learned their lesson from the First Round; ever since Game Five of the Sixers series, they’re actually taking Playoff games seriously from tip off. This, of course, is very bad news for the young and inexperienced Orlando Magic.
Spurs @ Hornets, Game 2: The New Orleans Hornets absolutely beat the tar out of San Antonio in their series opener, and yet, it doesn’t feel as though the defending champs are in real danger of getting unseated.
Most expect the Spurs to even up the series tonight, fly home, and take care of business in front of their fans.
Still, what happens if Chris Paul goes nuts tonight (as he is wont to do), and Duncan struggles again, and the Hornets put the Spurs in an 0-2 hole? Time to get nervous? You bet.

If your team is out (or didn’t make the playoffs…thanks Denver) who isn’t rooting for the Hornets at this point? I know I am.

Detroit by 12 and Hornets by 4.

TADOne says:
Paul and West are definitely worthy of rooting for.

Wait—my question was so poorly worded I have no idea if you’re pro-Hornets or anti. Either way, whoever wins that series has my allegiance against either the hated Jazz or the super-mega hated Lakers. Unless its the Spurs. In the end, all I’m really rooting for is Bruce Bowen getting headbutted by the Birdman. I would pay good money for this.

I’d agree with you either way that question was worded.

Hornets in 6 fo sho. West’s mid range game is pulling Timmy away from the basket so Tyson is free to dominate the boards. Long defenders like Bonzi & Peterson are slowing Manu, and CP3 can keep up with Parker’s quickness. Add the bodies they can throw at Duncan (I see you Melvin) and Hornets are taking this series.

David West’s midrange J is art. Seriously, I didn’t know he could shoot like that…

tenorca, I’d be willing to do the headbutting on Bowen, if Birdman’s not available. And you are person after my own heart…the hated Jazz or the super-mega hated Lakers! I Love it!! Go Hornets!!!

Izzo: I’m not up to snuff on my SLAM denizen’s favorite teams, so I had to ask. I know TAD is a Detroit fan though and I will always tip my hat to the Pistons, thanks to their devouring of one of the evilest Laker teams ever. I just hope your boys and his don’t meet in the Finals for Hella-Boring-Bowl ‘08.

Two must-win games. Turkuglu needs to ante up for the Magic if they are to have a chance in this series. They won’t win a Game 7 in Detroit so their only hope is to steal homecourt in tonight’s contest.
