i think he’s the best from what’s left in the pool, but i don’t see how his style of coaching can “maximize the talents on the team”, like dirk said. then again i don’t think there’s any coach in the world who can do that. dallas are effing screwed.

Man, I wanted the Bulls to get Carlisle. Not gonna be too happy if they end up with Avery. (Is the next step for the Mavs trading Dirk for Jermaine O’Neal? Actually, they should try and trade Josh Howard for a re-signed Ron Artest.)

The D’Antoni never made any sense. People said Avery got outcoached by Nelly and Riley, so why would they want a coach that got outoached by Avery on a regular basis.

Rick did a great job in Detroit by coaching them to 2 back to back 50+ win seasons and 2 conference championship appearances. The only reason why he got fired was because Larry Brown was available. He did a great job in Indiana with Reggie, O’Neal, Artest,etc. The last 2 year of his coaching tenure in Indiana were rough but that wasn’t his fault. I think Dallas will be fine with him as coach.

I agree with Leon. Rick basically made the Pistons contenders. His record is good enough to deserve a chance in Dallas.

Maybe we should wait and see how good the Hornets will play for the rest of the post-season before saying the Mavs are done…after watching game 1 against the Spurs I wonder if maybe it wasn’t Dallas that sucked but the Hornets who were just that good
