The Butler did it…
Since there was only one game tonight, I’m going to keep this short. The Cavs lost, at home, to the Wizards, 88-87. D-Steve had a good game, scoring 17, but Caron Butler did it, scoring 32 and grabbing 9 boards. Still, even with Cleveland shooting just 36 percent from the floor, it was still in LeBron’s hands with the game on the line. And tonight…he couldn’t connect. So we head back to Washington on Friday night for Game 6.
More tomorrow…
UPDATE: There was rumored to have been a game tonight in Boston, too. I’m checking into it now. I’ll update that tomorrow as well.

How come there is no mention of Peter Versey’s apology article? SLAM is normally all over that guy.

Loving Mr. Caron right now. That boy made my night!!

LBJ would sure love to have a mulligan on that banker. He prolly makes that shot 9 out of 10 times.

Dacre says:
whats a mulligan…? Is that something to do with Chris Mulli(ga)n?

Ken H. says:
the TNT guys are right, lebron isolation play at the top of the 3 pt line is a fine play… ONCE. if you run it 5 possessions in a row it becomes slightly less effective. Mike Brown for coach of the year! wooo!

Russ Bengtson says:
Caron coming out after that last timeout and talking nonstop to LeBron before the inbounds was great. P.S. Marv Albert needs to learn what a punch is.

namik says:
Thank you Russ. I thought Eddie Jordan did a pretty good job of explaining of what happened. And Ken its effective till someone actually stops him (besides the Spurs). He missed the shot, nobody actually made him miss it. They could run that play all game and he would just run around the defense and to the basket. F*ck I hate that guy.

Hm. Caron plays well. Made game winner look easy (though ugly). Team played very well, looking capable of winning the whole series. All this done with Arenas parked on the pine. Call me a hater if you’d like, but let me ask: Coincidink? I think NOT.

ESPN jacked your tagline “the butler did it”.. click my name and check number 7. I’m sure that’s from somewhere but I don’t know where.

If you look closely you can see Songaila pull a shiv and stab the King.

Dacre: Mulligan is from golf. In friendly matches if you take a bad shot you can declare a mulligan and take it again without penalty. Number of mulligans to be agreed pre-match.

and people say that the Wizards were jacked by the ref…

Darksaber says:
Whew, the collective puckering up of the Wizards fans as Lebron passed Stevenson, then bounced the ball off the back of the rim on that final drive must have felt GREAT. Tough Juice sure came to play last night, good stuff.

Can we never have the term ‘D-Steve’ used again? Please, for the children

Sam Rubenstein says:
the offcourt stuff in Cavs-Wizards has gone too far. That being said… LeBron needs to explain the jacket he wore to the postgame. I think my mom has the same one.

TADOne says:
Russ: Marv and whoever was broadcasting with him kept yelling “Songalia punched LeBron”, even after that replays showed it CLEARLY wasn’t a punch. It was about that time I pressed mute, and I never do that to Marv.
Sam: I wondered the same thing about Bron’s jacket. Thats my man, but he needs a fashion counselor.
Holly: Yes, Caron played big tonight. I loved it, too.

There was also a Chicago-Seattle game, but that was WNBA. Clarification:
I don’t watch the WNBA.

Caron is really that tough juice man! Was it me or did it look like he traveled though? maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me or something.

TAD, how can you NOT tell the voice of Reggie Miller spouting his continued nonsense sitting in with Marv?

Sarcasm is cool.

Russ Bengtson says:
Lots of guys have been dressing terrible this postseason. I think it’s time for David Stern to clarify the dress code–or let Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett write up an entirely new one.
May.1 at 9:00 am
TADOne says:
Eboy: I’m quite sure you realize I knew EXACTLY who that was broadcasting, I just don’t feel like mentioning him.

I should have said two-way sarcasm.

I just wanted to mention one thing about the Mavs before we stop talking about them forever: Is it just me, or is Brandon Bass like Paul Millsap with a better offensive arsenal?
May.1 at 10:53 am
Kevin says:
^ i like Brandon Bass’s game a lot, efficient and effective.. felt that way about him after following him through the regular season as well..

Caron traveled!! I have never wanted a series to be more over. Just typing the name Brendan Haywood infuriates me. Those jackets look like a Martha Stewart tip: “Spruce up your old blazers by adding a buckle and a button”
May.1 at 11:01 am
Tariq says:
Kevin: He also reminds me a bit of Jason Maxiell. I’d love to have any of those 3 on my time.

When the Hawks play in Boston…wow…we suck up there. Tomorrow’s game is huge… I’m sure Boston’s going to try to end the series in Atlanta…the better team won last night.

Russ Bengtson says:
You’re gonna complain about a WIZARD traveling on a game-winning shot in a Wizards/Cavs series? Seriously?
May.1 at 11:30 am
B. Long says:
@Sam’s 7:55 Comment: Is your mom into S&M?
May.1 at 12:42 pm
Diesel says:
Russ: When the no call means the series gets extended another game and we have to hear about hard fouling Lebron and how he keeps getitng up like Wade, then yes, I will complain. And they keep adding on to Lebron’s weight everytime they metion his strength. Last stat I heard was 6′9″ 270 lbs.

hopefully you can also look into how kg doesn’t get a tech when he got all in the ref’s mug yesterday.

Yeah Russ, it’s not like Le-traveler adheres to the two step rule on every one of his drives, breakaways etc. Butler traveled my butt!
