Facing Elimination, Rashard Lewis Remains Delusional Confident

by Marcel Mutoni

The Pistons played without their floor general Chauncey Billups in Game Four, and still, they managed to outsmart and outgut the young and inexperienced Magic on their own home floor. They have them on the ropes.

As the series shifts back to Detroit, and with Chauncey’s hamstring starting to feel better, there’s no reason to believe Orlando has a shot at forcing the series back to Disney World.

Rashard Lewis, ever confident (and talkative), still likes his team’s chances.

“For some reason, I feel we are still the better team,” Rashard Lewis said. “We just made too many mistakes at the end. It was our mistakes, nothing they did. They still got to beat us one more time.”

The younger team? Obviously. The more athletic team? Sure, why not. But the better team? Surely you jest, Rashard.

As if the Pistons needed any more motivation for Game Five, Lewis’s teammate Jameer Nelson had this nice little prediction: “We’re going to make adjustments, and we’re going to go there and win,” Nelson said.

he’s got several millions reasons to be confident, confident he’ll be well off the rest of his life, i dont know about winning though..

Ken says:
Well what else is he supposed to say?

Eboy says:
Can’t help to think that DeShawn started a new incredibly annoying trend of 2nd and 3rd tier players becoming vocal for all the wrong reasons.

Jim says:
Weren’t some people saying the Magic would automatically tie the series up if Chauncey couldn’t play game 4? Something about we shouldn’t even play the game?

May.12 at 12:45 pm

Eboy says:
I think commentor extrodinare TADOne took that approach, Jim.

TADOne says:
Eboy, a misquoting machine. You amaze me sometimes.

May.12 at 12:59 pm

Eboy says:
You better reference your comments that sarcastically referenced “I guess I’ll clear my Saturday since I don’t need to watch the game.” Fu*ker. Or was that not you?

May.12 at 12:59 pm

FLUXLAND says:
Call me delusional…I see them winning that game.

May.12 at 1:02 pm

Eboy says:
I call Flux delusional. If they won game 4, they’d be straight, but, unless the overconfident Pistons show up, they should close out easy.

May.12 at 1:05 pm

TADOne says:
For perspectives sake: Eboy says:
TAD, be realistic, if Chauncey’s out for Game 4, it’s 2-2.

May.12 at 1:07 pm

TADOne says:
That was May 8th at 9:43 AM, Eboy. Or was that another Eboy?

May.12 at 1:08 pm

Eboy says:
Was he out? I thought that horrible jacket he wore was his way of being distracting to the Magic? Between him and Lebron, the fashion police need to make some arrests.

May.12 at 1:09 pm

Eboy says:
And yes, I wrote that, but I never claimed the Magic would win the series, just that game. They didn’t, so, fu*k it. Neither one is winning a title this season.

May.12 at 1:11 pm

TADOne says:
Um, ok. So reads Jim’s question a little closer before pinning ridiculous statements by you on me.

May.12 at 1:13 pm

FLUXLAND says:
I’m expecting that “is this series over yet?” Pistons to show up.

May.12 at 1:16 pm

Eboy says:
Um, ok. I thought you would have read into it, but apparently you need to open your mind slightly more to (wish I could type this in 50 times font size) SARCASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May.12 at 1:18 pm

TADOne says:
Oh, I did. I just wanted to see how quick I could get under your skin on a Monday. Flux: Detroit will close it out at home on Tuesday.

May.12 at 1:19 pm

Eboy says:
So I can comfortably clear my calender to watch the final three on American Idol, TAD?

May.12 at 1:30 pm

TADOne says:
That is on you. I’m quite sure no one but me and the friends inside of my head care anything about this series anyway.

BxBaller says:
I like their confidence, GO MAGIC!!!!!

May.12 at 1:57 pm

Tuomas says:
I, on the other hand, like how the Magic try to emulate the attitude problem of recent Piston teams. Keep it up fellas, worked so well before. And thanks for the added motivation, Detroit might now forget to take you for granted in game five.

May.12 at 3:37 pm

WhaHuh says:
Lewis is the only Magic that has turned up for the 2nd round. According to SVG Hedo has choked 3 game tier/winners, D12 has been reduced to half his normal size and Nelson can just STFU and GTFO.

May.12 at 3:38 pm

Darksaber says:
Confidence? REALLY? Confidence? You have 9 seconds to win a game, and all you can do is give it to your “clutch” jump shooter for a wild drive, bowling over the help defender in an obvious offensive foul in the process and ignoring the “franchise center” under the basket? How imaginative. Nearly as much as antagonizing the Pistons (nice going Rashard, you too Jameer) ahead of game 5. Hope the magic have their holiday plans ready.

Typical comments but there is some truth in it. Dwights gonna have to do a little bit more tho.

this is another one of those stupid oppinionated slam articles by someone whos opinion is just stupid. im not even an orlando fan, but orlando only lost by 1 and they would have tied the series and u would be kissing their behined, probably writing an article about how the magic are about to win the series against the ageing pistons. stupid article, youre haters nowdays at slam, bring back scoop jackson pleeeeaassee, and put jordan on the cover with lebron and kobe. That way even with all your weak articles, atleast the cover would be sick and i might buy your magazine again, cos you fell off in like ‘98. peace.

May.12 at 8:53 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
What are they supposed to say? “Oh man, we don’t have a chance. The Pistons are gonna kill us, we might as well just go home now.” Then they’d get killed for being negative. Sometimes I really hate the media. Besides, Rashard’s just channeling his inner Patrick Ewing. Maybe he’s got Pat’s old locker in O-Town.

They could come back and win the series if they were playing the raptors but they not and their all nba 1st team player can not score on the block

May.13 at 4:57 am

Slobodan Chutzpah says:
As I said earlier, no team with the Cowardly Lion and his 976-billion contract as their second or third option is ever going to win the title. So good luck with that, Orlando. Also, Eboy, it’s “extraordinaire”.

May.13 at 7:22 am

FLUXLAND says:
@real: I went through the same stage at one point. It’s not SLAM, dude, it’s you. SLAM is for kids and you have just outgrown it. Just bring your expectations down a notch or two and you’ll be fine.
