That song reminds me of the Wizards. Or vice versa.

i wish this was the old days when they used to have brawls, songalia would have been finished

Kevin says:
i think he jus got tangled up.. tried to get untangled and he followed through.. stupid yes, but i don’t think he’s a dirty player.. i actually like how the refs assessed that.. if he gets suspended retroactively, i’d have to feel its almost for all of the Wizards actions against Lebron during the series rather than for that play alone…

peteb80 says:
I think Stevenson hitting LeBron in the head from behind was worse. Also, why should the league suspend a player if he wasn’t even ejected from the game? (Unless it’s something that the refs couldn’t see at the time).

Kevin, You’ve just officially entered Ryan Jones Sh*tlist

Not all Sesa. I mean, Kevin’s wrong, but I’m not mad at him.

this Wiz/Cavs series is reminding me of those Knicks vs. Bulls/Pacers/Heat series in the mid-90s. I keep waiting for Derek Harper to come out the stands to slam some JoJo English lookin dude on the scorers table.

Rod Strickland says:
Songalia? Wizards? Soft? Who’s checking his teeth every time he is touched? Who holds his throat for 3 minutes like a baby after incidental contact? Who brags about his size to the media and yet whines to the refs when he doesn’t get every call? Who can barely beat an injury plagued team? Soft? Vaginal? Eff everyone. Since the Wiz (0, CB, DSteve, AD, ALL ARE ARE HURT OR SOME EVEN NEED SURGERY)are hurt they lose to Bron. BFD. SOFT? DSteve has bad knees and back all anyone covers is his wack job persona not that he hasn’t missed a game in 3 years. Great media we hav today, cover the gossip and skip over content.

That didn’t even qualify as a love tap. I can’t wait for Jay-Z’s Darius Songaila diss track.

Rod Strickland makes Buzz Bissinger look composed.

Russ Bengtson says:
And if he gets suspended for THAT, I’m not watching another game of that series.

Eboy says:
I liked Rod Strickland leading the break better than leading the love parade for DeShawn’s endurance.
May.1 at 10:42 am
Russ Bengtson says:
LeBron sure does complain a lot, though.
May.1 at 10:44 am
Rod Strickland says:
That’s my first post in like 6 months, thank you.
May.1 at 10:46 am
Ryan Jones says:
My point, Rod, is that the Wizards’ whole M.O. this series is a false projection of machismo, which seems to be an attempt to overcompensate for their on-court deficiencies — and which has been largely counterproductive anyway. It reminds me, in other words, of the studio gangstas De Le Soul was making fun of in that track. You don’t have to like LeBron or how he’s reacted to the litany of cheap shots he’s absorbed this series, but he’s not the one instigating things. And if you can find me ANY NBA star who doesn’t complain to the refs when he doesn’t get his way, please let me know.

i wouldnt be surprised if that really was rod strickland
May.1 at 10:47 am
Ryan Jones says:
Like, Jordan NEVER bitched to the refs, right?
May.1 at 10:49 am
Kevin says:
to be fair, i think Lebron’s handled the cheapshots he’s been dealt very very well - like you said, he’s not the one instigating any of it, and he easily could’ve reacted more after getting hit in the last game.. I definitely think he’s been subject to a few hard fouls, with the Haywood bodyslam coming to mind for sure.. but i still don’t think the Songaila slap was deserving of a flagrant 1 (or 2, whichever gets you suspended the following game)..

Sesa says:
I also felt bad for DeShawn, but it must be remembered that DeShawn is the one who started all these.
May.1 at 10:50 am
Russ Bengtson says:
“Litany of cheap shots.” I’m not laughing, but Rick Mahorn and Bill Laimbeer are. The Wizards should obviously just bow down to LeBron’s prowess as The Chosen One™ and Witness™ his genius as he rolls to yet another victory. All praises due. All hail the Billion Dollar Baby, word to Alice Cooper.
May.1 at 10:51 am
Kevin says:
you’re allowed to say bitch? in that case, i’ll point out that Lebron bitches far less than both two-time winner Steve Nash or this year’s MVP Kobe Bryant..
May.1 at 10:53 am
Russ Bengtson says:
And I wasn’t talking about bitching to the refs, that’s par for the course. Everyone does that. I was referring to his bitching to the media. Just play the game and beat them. Let the game talk for you. I’m sure Jordan worked the refs like everyone else, but he also went out there and beat everyone. Just Do It™.
May.1 at 10:58 am
Ryan Jones says:
Russ’ insistence on basing the rightness or wrongness of everything that’s happened in the NBA since 1989 on things the Bad Boy Pistons did is chafing my ass. This has NOTHING to do with that. Grumpy old missing-the-point bastard. It’s Russ Bissinger from now on.
May.1 at 10:58 am
Rod Strickland says:
I’m just irked because the Wiz could beat these guys if they were full strength (and yes,I realize no team is full strength). Lebron having it both ways complaing and bragging about the contact he takes annoys me. The Wiz have done nothing dirty to me, it just seems like play off ball. And the fact that they are treated like a laughing stock bugs me cause they are close to leading the series 3-2, you’d think we were swept by the media’s tone toward the Wizards.
May.1 at 10:59 am
Kevin says:
PS. i f*cking hate listening to Reggie Miller.. it hurts me to say this, coz i actually loved him as a player, to the point where i’d imitate him by sprinting to the 3 point line and hurling up pretend buzzer-beaters.. but, he has the most annoying voice :/ AND he says stupid sh*t.. i know this is off topic, but i don’t know where else to write this..

ALL HAIL THE KING!
May.1 at 11:01 am
TADOne says:
But, it CLEARLY was a punch! Just ask Reggie.
May.1 at 11:07 am
Russ Bengtson says:
I just bring up the Pistons because I KNOW it irks you. Doesn’t really matter one way or the other. All I know is there’s been way too much whining going on these whole Playoffs. The Spurs/Suns series was REALLY depressing. I just wish the players would play the game–intimidation and physicality being PART OF THE GAME–and let the refs handle punishments and all that. Please point out one instance when a superstar was mortally wounded by a foul. P.S. Bad Boyz 4 Lyfe.

Ryan Jones says:
Hey Russ Bissinger, you’ll appreciate this from yesterday’s Fiver:
“Shut up! You keep quiet and get on with the game. Die!” - Japanese referee Yuichi Nishimura deals with a stroppy Oita Trinita player during a J-League soccer match.
We need more of that in the League, no?
May.1 at 11:42 am
ciolkstar says:
He shoulda made that shot to win. The Wiz have a chance now, lebron has to be more aggressive in game 6. I hope thug-ass little Delonte keeps balling too.
May.1 at 11:44 am
Russ Bengtson says:
That’s an amazing quote. I totally forgot about the Fiver since my Harris e-mail hasn’t worked in over four months. I need to re-subscribe.

Ryan Jones says:
Yes, Russ Bissinger, you do.

Spaceship Jay says:
To me, this relates right back to the Bowen-Stoudemire/ Youtube clip post a while back. I’m sure no one wants the 80’s or 90’s back (including myself), but when Jordan caught a crazy hit, he would MAKE SURE there was a double technical foul called… On the guy that hit him, and himself. If its another player that hit him, what the f#$k is he getting in the REF’s face for?
May.1 at 12:06 pm
Jukai says:
I like how Russ takes the things he liked about late 80s basketball (Lambier pushing around guys on the court) and ironically forgets all the things he didn’t like so much about the 80s (LAMBIER COMPLAINING TO THE REFS EVERY FRIGGIN TWENTY SECONDS).
May.1 at 12:10 pm
Russ Bengtson says:
I didn’t like Laimbeer pushing people around in the ’80s. I did like people not acting like they got shot when someone brushed their cheek, though.
May.1 at 12:11 pm
Jukai says:
I bet no one even remembers Michael Jordan being suspended a game because he shoved a ref when he was irritated about a call. You guys think this game is soft, NOWADAYS, you don’t even get suspended for that (ala Garnett).
May.1 at 12:13 pm
Jukai says:
If Songaila, a 6′9, 250 foot man back-fisted Russ in the face, Russ would stand completely still. More to that, Songaila’s fist would shatter. I don’t mean the bones, I mean his hand would litterally shatter like smashing an ice cube with a hammer. Russ is A REAL MAN.

Bron grabbing his jaw like he just had a tooth extracted was a bit much from a love tap.

Jones acts like the Wizards are using dirty tactics to derail a pre-ordained dynasty. What happens in this series matters little in the real championship picture.
May.1 at 12:52 pm
Jukai says:
He got b**** slapped. You ever take a back hand to the face? It may not knock you out, but chances are, you’re going to put your hand over your face and say “dang… that hurt.” Unless you’re Russ. He’s a REAL MAN.
May.1 at 12:53 pm
phil says:
LeBron has been spending too much time with Varejao. The acting on that love tap was impeccable.
May.1 at 1:00 pm
Slobodan Chutzpah says:
I don’t really care either way, but Bron has been having/eating his cake: he fronts like he’s taking the high road while stooping to at least the level of Deshawna Boy. Also, he claims he’s big and tough and doesn’t mind the fouls while simultaneously crying in the press that the Wiz are trying to “take him out” and generally acting like he’s been hit with a sledge hammer after every foul.
May.1 at 1:21 pm
Ryan Jones says:
On 5/1/08, Tommy said, “Jones acts like the Wizards are using dirty tactics to derail a pre-ordained dynasty. What happens in this series matters little in the real championship picture.”
On 4/18/08, Jones (I assume that’s me?) said, “The outcome of this series doesn’t matter… in the scope of this NBA season.”
Thanks for reading, dude!

It wasn’t a punch but it was the most accuratley aimed thing Songalia has done this entire series. BTW, go see Iron Man. NOW. GO!!!! I had a mid-afternoon screening I attended (fu*k work!!!) and it was hotter than….well, it was fuc*ing off the hook.

We are supposed to bow down to the Chosen One, remember? Im tired of him honestly… Its all you hear on ESPN, and now SLAM is following them down the tubes…He gets so many calls, that when he doesnt get one, he whines like a 5-year-old that lost his lunch…im so tired of it…BEAT HIM WIZ!!!
May.1 at 11:35 pm
Jukai says:
The Promise… the Wizards game plan is to foul the crap out of him. Shouldn’t, logically, he be getting all the calls?
