Worthy of Your Attention

by Marcel Mutoni

As we collectively attempt to pick our brains up off the floor following the Hawks’ amazing victory in the A last night, let’s take a look at tonight’s matchups. And folks, let’s make the effort to watch these games. The ratings aren’t looking so hot these days.

Sixers @ Pistons, Game 5: Philly had Detroit on the ropes in Game 4, but their inexperience caught up to them, and now they must walk into the Palace of Auburn Hills and try to pull off a miracle.

Though the Pistons may not give a damn what their head coach has to say, there’s no reason to think they’ll return to Philly without the series lead.

Jazz @ Rockets, Game 5: I’ll be honest, I want Houston to pull off the win tonight. If only because Houston delaying its inevitable demise will tire the Jazz slightly, and give the waiting Lakers a little more to rest before their dogfight of a series.

Oh, by the way, T-Mac threw his coach under the bus following Game 4. So he’s got that going for him.

Mavs @ Hornets, Game 5: The League decided not to suspend Jason Kidd for his decapitation attempt on Jannero Pargo in Game 4.

Considering how poorly he’s played in the series, Mavs fans are probably mad at Stu Jackson and company for not keeping him out of uniform.

Suns @ Spurs, Game 5: As the Phoenix Suns were putting the finishing touches on the Game Four demolition of the Spurs, ABC’s cameras caught Tim Duncan and Tony Parker sharing a hearty laugh on the bench. I thought that a pretty telling sign as to how San Antonio feels going back home for this pivotal game.

Phoenix should put up a good fight in this do-or-die situation, but they’ve given us no reason to believe this series will extend past tonight.

Naah, it IS over. This is San Antonio we are talking about here. They have one of 3 guys in the NBA who scare me with what they can do with the rock. Manu(ela) Ginobili. Out of this world

As an advocate for this years Lakers, the Spurs are the only team that worries me… I was going to say in the West, but after watching these Eastern “top seed” Wars happening, I’ll say that the Spurs are the only team that worries me.

I think they’ll push it to six or seven. While they’re a superior team, I can see the Hornets laxing up with such a lead.

Suns will take game 5. I am thinking that real soon I will have to come to grips with the thought that Nash might not get a ring. As long as after the smoke clears, Shaq doesn’t start bad mouthing the Suns outfit….that will make me angry.

I can onyl ask that today the Suns will take game 5. I am thinking that real soon I will have to come to grips with the thought that Nash might not get a ring. As long as after the smoke clears, Shaq doesn’t start bad mouthing the Suns outfit….that will make for a sore point.

I think that the series between the Spurs and the Suns is rigged everytime that shaq gets in the paint and tries to score it’s a foul, and Spurs have been floptastic. I hate what D.stren has done to the league, man do I miss the 90s when teams played with out getting penalized with this constant any cantacts a foul rule.

well..8th seeded Denver beat Seattle about 10 years ago in the first round… seventh…Umm…where was Houston seeded in their two runs to the finals? I think in one season they were around the 5th-6th seed….

on other news, Gregg Popovich decide to forbid Tim Duncan and Tony Parker go back to their respective houses in SA and told them to sleep in the arena instead for laughing on the bench.
