At least DeShawn has really made a name for himself in this series. He got worldwide fame now. Before it was “Who’s that guy?” Now it’s: “That’s the dumbest mofo in the NBA!” I bet it was worth it.

Myles Brown says:
Ive known who DeShawn was ever since…well ask Roger Clemens.

Jackie Moon says:
None of that matters. The better team will win. I also heard before “don’t get KG and Paul Pierce upset, they’ll embarass you”. Doesn’t seem like the trash talk does much except for ratings.

Posts such as these make Slam seem like Perez Hilton (or ESPN).

Toml11 says:
Few years ago Ruben Patterson tried to become famous by calling himself “The Kobe Stopper”
Now DeShawn is trying to do the same by going at Lebron

Shut up and play has never been more applicable than in this series.

The Wiz are my team, by birthright, and i think all of the talk makes it pretty fun, but its a bit embarrasing when Lebron obviously is killing us this series, as he did last year…and the year before. With AgentZero giving us a zero due to his obvious injury, we have no real chance of beating the Cavs in a best of 7. Disappointing. But all this stuff at least makes it entertaining. It will be sad when it ends (probably Wed).

Haywood was actually being pretty reasonable

That was a funny soundbite from Haywood.

Truth About It Dot Net says:
I’m a wiz fan too….and I have been critical of DeShawn and Gilbert for their talking….but Brendan Haywood is right….baby Bron Bron needs to stop crying. http://www.truthaboutit.net/pictures/LeBron-James-is-a-crying-baby.jpg But give yourself on pat on the back Slam….I’ve seen your blog do nothing but come to the defense of LeBron and never throw an ounce of criticism his way. After all…LBJ would “never” flop, would he?

Spaceship Jay says:
Haywood on whether he’s ever heard an NBA player claim that another team is trying to hurt them: “No, I don’t ever remember a player coming out and saying that another team is blatantly trying to hurt me but the game has changed a lot. Back in the day, you couldn’t have said that just because of the nature of the game with the Bad Boy Pistons, the Knicks…you would have been seen as flat-out soft. But that is how the game has changed. They are not about flagrant fouls or tough play. It’s all about fluid motion and scoring a lot of points so it’s different. When I was growing up, you never heard that. I never heard Magic say it. Or Mike. Or Larry (Bird).” Me neither Haywood, me neither.

Jukai, where are you when I need you the most!?

Russ Bengtson says:
If the Wizards lose the series (which seems incredibly likely), can they blame it on Michael Jordan?

Apr.29 at 6:21 pm

B. Long says:
No Russ but the league can blame MJ for Pau being a Laker in a weird way.

Apr.29 at 6:29 pm

Jukai says:
I’m getting severe therapy because of the state of the Suns. What the hell do you want Spaceship Jay?

Rich 216 says:
Come on ya’ll LBJ can’t be stopped (In The East}LMAO! The Wiz kidz are soft as baby ish cause they can’t check him 1 on 1 like men!

Holy Baller says:
Ya I agree with Peteb80. Deshawn’s new nickname should be “Dumb Sh#t Soulja Boy.”

Apr.29 at 6:42 pm

Jukai says:
True point Rich, the Wizards forget that in the 80s/90s, there were INCREDIBLY INDEPTH game plans when they wanted to play someone physically. Wikipedia “Jordan Rules” and look at what the Knicks (who the Wizards love to refer to themselves as every twenty seconds) thought up to keep Jordan out of the paint. There was actually some thought process going on, they had actual flippin’ game plans. The Wizards strategy seems to be “punch Lebron in the head” which isn’t a very good strategy.

Vince says:
WIZARDS IN SEVEN GUARENTEED!!! Cavs absolutly blow theyre a one man team and if the wiz can merely play solid for 48 minutes they got it. game 5 will be a wiz win and comming home will be too. by tht time confidence is up, james is down and the WIZ on top.

ROSCO says:
What ever happened to being tough? These guys need a shot of spirit. Did Michael say those Pistons are trying to hurt me out there and complain and cry, did Shaq say those guys are stepping on my feet and fouling me hard and put on a diaper? NO! The manned up and played physical playoff basketball and won championships. Play or go home!

Winslowalrob says:
Besides the fact that Brendan “Needle in the Haywood” is absolutely right, I expect a hard fought win for the Wiz in Cleveland.

Apr.30 at 4:18 pm

Spaceship Jay says:
Jukai does have a point on this one. “Let’s put the guy that LeBron hates the absolute most to play Defense on him” is great TV, but stupid if your trying to win a game. The flagrants are rather reckless this year.
