Riley’s Replacement is Erik Spoelstra

Don’t feel bad, I have no idea who he is either.

Mutoni, expand your borders, so to speak. Dude is going to surprise a lot of people. Well prepared, student of the game, and he actually played college ball and was a good player. I’m excited for the change. Any Heat fan (whoever is left) should be too.

I think he’ll be a great coach. I’ve seen him on the comeup a few years now. He’ll develop winners again!

i want seattle to win the lottery and take beasley. so they could have KD35 and MB30. Its like if Carmelo played with McGrady. But i want the Heat gettin Rose.

Eboy, SVG spoke about Spoelstra last night in his press conference. Said that when he met him, he called his Dad and said that Erik was the best Coach he ever met. Plus, Winderman and Guiterrez have been hyping this guy for years. So, good news for the HEAT.

I met Spolstra in 2006 after the Heat’s championship parade. Dude was down to earth, very cool to speak with and excited for the possiblity of a future head coaching job, as he said “hopefully here someday.” He’s got his shot now, and he’s young enough to be there for a long time.

Damn, Eboy you met everyone. I only got to meet Eric Reid….

It’s called “creative placement” Justin.

Yo with Eboy backing Spoelstra I’m excited hopefully we can get it done next year. I’d still prefer Beasley over Rose though.

Blue says:
Eboy: Spoelstra might be a good coach, but any person that replaces Riley as coach can only be called one thing…Stunt Double. Spoelstra will more than likely get the team back to working as a cohesive unit, and Riley will return as coach right on cue to make noise in the playoffs…

Eboy says:
Riley’s done, for real. His image is so tarnished, that he’ll be content in the President role, and if he does get the urge to coach again, it would be somewhere else, because he’s burned his bridges one too many times and the kid’s future is bright enough to make a strong go of it.

yeah, but he gives you diarrhea when you put him in Pringles.

Cheryl says:
@Jake: huh??
Erik will be fine. He’s a guard coach, and a good one. He’ll probably keep a lot of the same Riley staff, maybe adding a defensive-minded coach, and he’s got the support of DWade. If the #1 pick is ours, I see a return to playoff basketball for the Heat next season. The future is bright.

Jake: Like Cheryl said, huh?

Haha…You’re nuts Jake! I thought I was the only one who read the back of chip bags. It used to be in Doritos…we used to call them Diarrhe-tos!

he is one of the new generation coaches which will soon take over the NBA (and I am glad about it). These are the video-stats savvy whiz kids. It is possible that they will change the game, and they will bring a lot of new tactics and possibly a better quality game.
