Pat Riley Ready for Retirement?
Pat Riley’s well-deserved induction into the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame was the lone bright spot in an otherwise nightmarish season. And the induction might be Riley’s calling card to step away from coaching the game.
Ever since the enshrinment, Pat Riley has been sounding like a man ready to leave the bench for good.
‘’When you come to a fork in the road, you take it,'’ Riley said after Monday’s news conference. “I don’t know what it’s like. But I think shortly, I’ll find out.'’
Riley told WQAM (560) on Wednesday morning that he would ‘’make the decision quickly, right after the season,'’
No one would blame Riley if he retired at this time; the man certainly has nothing left to prove as a coach, and he has earned a break after 40 years or so on the bench.
He won’t completely go away, though. It is believed that he’ll continue to lord over the Miami Heat organization as team president.

From Riley to Skiles: from weigh-ins and body fat test, to doing suicides and pushups, if you don’t listen.

I think they need Van Gundy the great.I wouldn’t let Scott Skiles coach my dog on how to sit..the dog would probably choke itself to death on its leash,Skiles is the Hitler of the NBA.He’s probably writing his on Mein Kampf right now.

own*…my typing skills aren’t up to par yet its not noon.Oh and also, who on earth are the heat going to pick in the draft?I’d guess OJ Mayo or derrick rose, but they will need to get rid of white chocolate.I cant see them drafting K Love, beasley, derrick rose, douglas roberts,or the Light white boy wonder from Carolina because they have Udonis and neither of the Lopez twins will go in the top 5….will they?

Larry Brown on the bench and Pat Riley in the office. Thet would sound nice but its too bad theyre gonna have to trade their pick because Brown would never play him.

I never thought about it until Jake mentioned it, but JVG might be a good choice, if Riles wants to go w/a vet coach. Question is, will JVG want the job after the way his brother was treated?

Terry Porter is a guy that I think can work well with young players, if Spoelstra doesn’t get moved up.
