Former Clevelander Behind ‘NYC for LeBron’ Campaign

by Marcel Mutoni

Holy traitor, Batman!

You know about the infamous NYC for LeBron website - an absurdly silly attempt to bribe James to come to New York once his current deal with the Cavs is up in 2010 - and now it appears that someone who used to work for the Cavs may be behind the whole thing.

Perhaps more troubling for nycforlebron.com is that Earl Patton, the Cavaliers director of basketball administration from 2001 to ‘06, appears to be a part of the group that founded the site. He denied involvement when reached by phone last week.

“We obviously would have to look at this type of fan very carefully,” [NBA spokesman Tim Frank] said. “We’re not prepared to say at this point whether we think it implicates any [collective bargaining agreement] rules. We would have to know more facts.”

Not only do the likes of Jay-Z want LBJ hooping in the Big Apple, but former Cavs employees too? You’ve got no chance, Cavs supporters.

Keep Lebron’s ass in Cleveland.

Lebron will be a Brooklyn Net. Everyone forgets that the Nets will be moving to Brooklyn in the ‘09-’10 season. What better way to start a new era than with the best player in the game joining your team.

Lebron will be in Oklahoma City in 2010.

I don’t see Lebron staying in Cleveland. The team is at it’s prime right now and I don’t see how management is going to replace Wallace and big Z. If the team is not a legitimate contender why stay in Cleveland? Loyalty is fine but there are much nicer places to live.

If Lebron tries to play the Reggie Miller-esque loyalty game he will replace the Mailman as the greatest player to never win it all.

LOL. We’ll see how big of a mess is still in NY in 2010. I’m willing to bet that Walsh will be pitching LeBron as the piece they need to move up. Into the playoffs.

Lebron in a Knicks Jersey? I can actually picture that (sadly enough). Would that make the Knicks payroll higher than the Yank’s? LOL jk. I just wanna see him go somewhere with a smaller market, so he doesn’t get involved in the media.. maybe playing underneath Mike’s wings in Charlotte? That would be sick. Kinda.

Lebron won’t stay in Cleveland because he wants to become a global icon and he do that from Cleveland and he can’t do that without a championship, which is another thing he can’t do in Cleveland. He might go to the Knicks, but he needs to go to a Western conference team that is a contender.

Go ‘head LeBron, turn your NBA career into a frigging circus. Better yet do it with the KNICKS, if your lucky Larry Brown and Zeke will be back in head office running things as is only the natural progression of things. Yes send LeBron to NY, maybe you could single handedly get the Brooklyn Knicks their first every championship *cof* *choke* *tear*!

this is whats going to happen over the next two years
knicks will win the 1st pick, and take beasley, but they still wont be good enough to make the playoffs in 09 and be in the lottery again
then they’ll get the first pick again, and take ricky rubio
by then, contracts would’ve expired, and lebron, a free agent, will become a knick.
don’t pinch me, i like my dreams

Apr.15 at 8:28 pm

Tim Duncan says:
Beasley to the Knicks? They would have to move up like, what, 8 spots with the ping-pong balls? Then again next year? And why would they take Rubio?? The knicks –must– take Tyreke Evans, a combo guard that they will try to convert into a pure point. LOL. Sorry to burst your bubble.
