Chris Bosh Is Not a Stephen A. Smith Fan

by Marcel Mutoni

Hey Chris, get in line.

Irked by comments that Screamin’ A made on the air - someting about the Raptors’ leader being as soft as Manute Bol - Bosh went off on the loudmouth talking head.

“If you have respect for someone, you expect that same respect back,” Bosh said yesterday. “If you’re a classless person like that, I mean, I guess that shows how you are, what kind of person you really are.

“If you criticize basketball, criticize the game, criticize the team but don’t do anything personal.”

The best way to deal with SAS, as Chris will eventually learn, is to pretend that he doesn’t exist. And when that fails, as it often does, one needs to watch something like this to feel a little bit better.

S.A.S is just a complete waste of air time and doesn’t realize his 15 minutes ended years ago. The same can be said Skip Bayless who makes my eyes vomit.

Diesel says:
Tell me again…how is Stephen A qualified to be a basketball analyst?

Apr.21 at 3:04 pm

SA says:
Without hearing/seeing SAS’s comments I can guess they went something like: The Toronto Raptors are terrible, Chris Bosh is terrible. HOWEVVVVAAA…(Insert Random Crap Here). I can not stand SAS, it boggles my mind that he has a job where voicing his opinion is part of the job description.

All ESPN talking heads are puppets, he is just a loud puppet.

Apr.21 at 3:19 pm

FLUXLAND says:
You call that going off?? I guess.. for a soft player that would be a fit of rage. Smith couldn’t be more on the money. They are losing by 20 yesterday and he’s flexing after a meaningless bucket. IDIOT!

Hursty says:
wheres PP? her realm right here :)

Rasheedionics says:
What did Stephen A Smith said wrong? Chris Bosh is soft. I agree that he didn’t have to bring Manute Bol into this but he ain’t lying.

Apr.21 at 3:25 pm

Jess says:
Okay thats is FLUXLAND you cannot claim to be a raptors fan anymore, have you ever said anything positive about them? S.A.S is ridicuous and Im glad (and actually kind of suprised) that Bosh said that..good for him..Raps in 6

CHEEZE DOODLES!

Apr.21 at 3:32 pm

James AKA the artist formerly known as Krayzie Bone says:
Raps in 6? Did you even go near a t.v on Sunday?!? Bosh is soft. He’s a gifted basketball player, but he is easily thrown off his game if you body him up, much like the previous Raptors #1. The only difference is that he doesn’t dog it on the court, so he can be forgiven, but he’s not going to progress (nor is the team) unless there is someone who can be the mental and physical presence on the floor that the raptors have missed since Oakley was shipped off.

Apr.21 at 3:34 pm

FLUXLAND says:
Jess.. no I am not a fan of what the Raps have become this year and their performance. There is nothing to be positive about. Short of sex scandals, lawsuits and an insane payroll we are the Knicks of the North.

Apr.21 at 3:34 pm

k.o. says:
he’s not soft, but he played the part well yesterday

Apr.21 at 3:36 pm

FLUXLAND says:
Bone I wasn’t going to comment on the Raps in 6.. the person is clearly watching a different team.

Apr.21 at 3:38 pm

TADOne says:
He forget to put DONE in between Raps and in.

if someone could differentiate Chris Bosh and Zach Randolph that would be great. Thanks.

FLUXLAND says:
lol@TAD

Apr.21 at 3:49 pm

Prophecy_Projectz says:
A friend of mine told me about this yesterday. He said Stephen called him a skinny version of Mutombo. Which kinda confused me cause I was like, can Bosh really be insulted by being called a lighter version of an All-Star and DPOY? Needless to say my friend is a moron who cant tell Africans apart…….and hes black. SMH.

Apr.21 at 3:54 pm

FK says:
Randolph weighs about 300+ and Bosh a shade under 200.

Apr.21 at 4:06 pm

TADOne says:
dma: Heart and about 100 pounds. You’re welcome.

Apr.21 at 4:12 pm

what says:
Chris Bosh ain’t soft… it’s not his fault he weighs 50 pounds

Apr.21 at 4:29 pm

Spaceship Jay says:
There was a time when SAS didn’t act as erratic as he does now. He used to give facts and statements of rumors he heard around the league, and that would be it. I hope he doesn’t act like that off the camera.

Apr.21 at 4:30 pm

WhereisBisonDele says:
The team is soft, and Chris has his moments of playing soft, but comparisons to Manute, the Knicks or Z-bo (what’s the difference between them, dma? How about a hundred pounds of weight and another hundred of baggage) are ridiculous. (As are, frankly, comparisons to Mt. Mutumbo…who plays better defense and has no offense. Chris definitely brings it on that end.)

BxBaller says:
Doesn’t Stephen A look like Animal from the muppets.

Apr.21 at 4:34 pm

Sparker says:
bosh is a finesse player, so yeah, it’s kind of easy to throw him off his game by bodying him up. but the real villain here is colangelo because: HE REALLY SCREWED UP BY DRAFTING BARGNANI. at the time, bosh said they needed a banger (he favoured lamarcus alridge); colangelo differed and here we are. no one to draw real defensive heat except the increasingly frustrated cb4

Apr.21 at 4:40 pm

TADOne says:
Bargnani is turning into a bust, in just his 2nd season. Yeah, I said it.

Apr.21 at 4:42 pm

Khalid Salaam says:
FLuxland my man! Remember me..I rememeber you. Do u recall what i said about the Raptors in the preseason? I’m saying it again, lol….

Apr.21 at 4:44 pm

Khalid Salaam says:
Ah nevermind, canadians need love too. While i’m not much of a Raptors fan, you guys are an improving team. Next yr you guys will be even better.

Apr.21 at 5:01 pm

vmcb says:
Just imagine how good the raps would be if they had drafted Aldridge, even if he and Bosh are very similar players. I understand why BC drafted Bargnani; the potential is certainly there, and he looked pretty good at times last season. This season, however… ouch. PS Fluxland is a hater. The Raptors have been terrible for years, and now that they aren’t, he is taking them for granted.

Apr.21 at 5:07 pm

Sparker says:
thanks, khalid (really). but i think the raps actually got worse this year (not much, but still). the injury to garbojosa cost them toughness and clutch play, and losing mo pete hurt them at the defensive end (and just look where he’s ended up: on the surprise of the west). worse, they’re no longer under the radar anymore, and when scouted, they’ve just seemed way more vulnerable. i don’t see them beating orlando in any case

Apr.21 at 5:12 pm

vmcb says:
The Raptors have arguably more talent than last year, but they’ve definitely underachieved. The loss of Garbo definitely hurts them. It seems to me that they’ve become complacent due to the moderate success they experienced last season. They have awful first quarters, and more frustratingly, awful fourth quarters.

Apr.21 at 5:19 pm

FLUXLAND says:
Khalid “the warrrior” ! No sorry, I don’t recall what you said in the preseason. But this gem is still fresh in my mind from last year somtime: “No offense but all the Raptors fans on this website who post constantly about how their team is on the rise need to relax. No one in America cares. Winning the Atlantic is like winning the war in Iraq. Even if you win, you still lose.” I’m assuming it was something along those lines. And I do recall you calling me a girl at one point. But.. please enlighten me. And of course you remember me .. I’m the most hated poster on here since Chukaz. And how could I be forgotten? I am the most hated poster on here.

Apr.21 at 5:30 pm

Khalid Salaam says:
Fluxland, tell em why you mad!!

Apr.21 at 5:37 pm

FLUXLAND says:
“they got mermaids swimmin in they living rooms and s***” “That’s the s*** that got me mad”
LOL

Khalid you never answered if fear of a black editor had anything to do with KRS ONE?!..It’s bugging me, man!

Apr.21 at 5:41 pm

G Diesel says:
Living in Canada, I’ve watched almost every single Raptors game for the past 2 years.
Let me say this: First, they have seriously regressed from last year.
Second, pound for pound, Chris Bosh is the softest star in the league. He’s even softer than the big German in Dallas.
If they don’t get another star or a banger, they’re not goin anywhere.

Apr.21 at 5:42 pm

G Diesel says:
And Sam Mitchell is a dumba** coach. He should’ve never won COY or gotten another contract.

Apr.21 at 5:47 pm

Khalid Salaam says:
Not, krs one. Public Enemy. their 3rd album was called fear of a black planet….and g diesel bosh is decent, to put him on par with dirk is shameful. nobody is as soft as him

Apr.21 at 5:47 pm

Hursty says:
that being said, without the ’soft’ comments CB4’s hair looks girlish. Too long, bad like AI and long rows, not a good look.

Apr.21 at 5:48 pm

Hursty says:
Khalid, Dirk has a post up game thats obviously not soft lol.

Apr.21 at 5:53 pm

G Diesel says:
I guess u’re right Khalid. I don’t think Bosh could be slapped in the face like a biotch without retaliating.

Apr.21 at 5:55 pm

whooo! says:
i feel bad for manute!

Well put, Russ.

Apr.21 at 7:26 pm

benny says:
“well put, Russ.” dude, enough already. damn. have you got anything to say that ain’t a slam kiss up or a raptor insult.

Apr.21 at 7:49 pm

FLUXLAND says:
HAHAHAHAHAHHA! Slam kiss up… HHAHAHAHHAHA!! Dude, have you seen any of my comments on here over the last oooh I dunno past (at least) 3 years to 4 years? Obviously not! And just so you know Russ more then likely has a voodoo doll with my name on it that he repeatedly stabs when angry. Then again I’m probably not that popular.

Apr.21 at 8:24 pm

FLUXLAND says:
TJ Ford is pretty tough too, no?

that video is amazing!!!
quite frankly if you gave me more cheese doodles i would eat another one!

Apr.21 at 8:25 pm

Sesa says:
Chris Bosh need to do a better job if not offensively then defensively while Stephen A Smith probably doesn’t get enough hug from his mother and father. Maybe he doesn’t have any, who knows…

Apr.21 at 8:34 pm

WordUp says:
You know who is the Raps toughest player? Delfino. Guy look like a pretty boy, but he’d cut you. For real.

tealish says:
Stephen A. Smith is a jackass. Okay.
But Bosh is still soft.

Apr.21 at 8:42 pm

tealish says:
His cry about SAS going all personal just shows his softness. Afterall, it’s not personal. Stephen A isn’t calling Bosh soft at his personal life -though who knows- he’s calling his game soft. So toughen up, big bosh man.

Apr.21 at 9:23 pm

The Promise says:
cmon SAS has a point…he needs to hit the weight room because he IS soft, especially for a power forward…he cant out muscle people on rebounds,he has to rely on athleticism, which wont work forever… if he dont put on some weight and get stronger,he will never be a top 10 player…in fact maybe not even top 20

Apr.21 at 10:00 pm

DP says:
SAS is my dude, I actually like his personality but dude just needs to calm his hyper but down sometimes. It is funny as hell though when he talks to Bill Walton like he is a ignorant second grader. Bill needs to stop being a softie and stand up to Stephen! I guess that is just how New York Knicks fans are……………………play wit it.

Apr.21 at 10:42 pm

RIDGE says:
SAS clarified the situation on the 11am est sportscenter yesterday and miraculously it seems im the only person who saw it. He apologized, then proceeded to clarify that he meant he and his team are soft and he needs to hit the weights. Period. And he’s right and we all know it. Dude’s weaker than dirk, as much as i hate to say it. Then he goes out and gets rag-dolled by Howard. Hit the weights and stfu and play ball bosh.

Apr.21 at 11:20 pm

Mike says:
Who cares about the guy? Bosh is just proving his softness by responding back to him…

Apr.22 at 11:18 am

Joel O's says:
Umm… this is stupid. It’s not even possible to NOT look soft going up against Dwight. It’s like having Batman fight Superman and saying “Batman doesn’t have super-strength!”

Apr.22 at 12:16 pm

Nguni says:
stephen ass smith!

Apr.22 at 3:44 pm

Spree says:
Are you guys blind: “The comments about the team and the game aren’t what irked Bosh, it was dragging in the name of Bol…” Chris Bosh’s response is in reference to SAS’ unneccessary “Manute Bol” jab, nothing else. The whole issue of CB4 and/or the Raptors being soft was a valid point that had everything to do with basketball…hence Bosh not addressing the issue. Read the article carefully before some of you guys jump the bandwagon and call him a crybaby. Put yourself in his shoes: - The media calling you, as a player, soft..who cares. - The media insulting your character, personality, appearance, or any immature shot just to be funny…pathetic. Would YOU sit back and take it?
