Chris Bosh Doesn’t Trust Fellow Dinos

by Marcel Mutoni

Legend has it that what actually led to the dinosaurs’ extinction from this mortal coil weren’t giant asteroids, but instead, a lack of trust among the ancient creatures … Oh alright, I totally made that up. What I didn’t make up, though, is Chris Bosh’s admission that of late, he’s lost faith in his struggling teammates.

“I have to do a better job of trusting my teammates,'’ Bosh said.

“I’ve lacked in that and I can be man enough to say I’ve made that mistake. I’ve talked with the coaches and they told me the same thing — trust my teammates.”

Toronto is in the midst of an ugly three-game losing streak, and only if the Hawks weren’t so willing to choke away games, the Raptors’ hold on the seventh seed in the East could be in jeopardy.

The good thing for the candid Bosh and his teammates is that they’ve had plenty of time to rebuild the trust amongst themselves. Tonight, against Milwaukee, they’ll play their first game since Saturday.

Everything I loved about the team last year is gone. Last year, they were a team, they all worried about winning and there was very little griping. If not for Calderon’s emergence this year, they would be on the outside looking in. Rasho and AP have stepped up, but they’re not that good, just smart, and someone has to score when you’re slumping (unless you’re Miami). All that was created last year has been destroyed.

There is a big difference between what he said and the headline: Bosh doesn’t trust his teammates.

This is the worst possible moment for the Raptors to be struggling, and having some chemistry issues, if I may call it like that. If they are playing the Magic in the first round, they really have to get their acto together. The Raptors can beat the Magic, but not in this state.

MK Petrik says:
Get rid of TJ Ford and put Calderon in the starting spot, run some more plays for Bargnani and Kapono (who if I recall can hit the 22ft shot) Sam Mitchell should also consider purchasing “Basketball Coaching For Dummies”. People also have the realize that if Boston wasn’t in our division we would probably be holding the top spot right now.

I knew as soon as I saw the interview with Bosh that there would be something like this out there. I think it gets blown out of proportion. The Raps have been playing terrible ball as of late but I think they will turn it around. Every team has their slumps during the year, this is the Raptors - its just coming at a very bad time. Oh and the comment about Sam Mitchell playing Bargnani and Kapono more minutes, well when they do get on the court they are not producing AT ALL. I know Kapono is a 3-point shooter but he hasn’t attempted many. Bargnani has had a rough season but working with Lucas in the off-season will help. I think he will have a solid year next season. TJ Ford and Jose Calderon are amazing PGs. Should there be any controversy? - no,is there, more so created by the fans and media? - unfortunately yes. Oh and TJ Ford for Shane battier is ridiculous. I have always like Battier, but in my opinion I see Battier and Parker as two very similar players.

FLUXLAND says:
@Petrik: “Put Calderon in the starting spot”… yeah cuz that really worked the 1st time around. And Sam can’t coach people that cannot execute the most basic of plays. Stop blaming Sam for lack of execution by the players.
“run some more plays for Bargnani and Kapono” … Kapono has not made a shot in 3 months..and Bargnani has been asked to do so many things he doesn’t have any clue what his role is anymore.
We would be dead last in the division if the rest of the teams got their ish together… look at the talent on paper.. we can’t beat any of those teams. We just got lucky they were dysfunctional. Get real, guy!

@Jess: Battier and Parker are the same player? Are you kidding me? Parker couldn’t hit a shot when we need one if his life depended on it. Please don’t insult Battier like that again. Getting rid of Parker Kapono and Delfino is the 1st step in the right direction. MoPete.. we miss you!

Bosh needs to get rid of his dumbass gf that keeps chirping in his ear all this crap about “you are better then LeBron” and get rid of that stupid ass Rastafarian haircut. And I would trust that cast of Semi Pro extras he has on his team either. Except TJ.

Apr.9 at 1:56 pm

FLUXLAND says:
*would not

Apr.9 at 2:48 pm

vmcb says:
Flux, you’d really rather have Mo Pete than Parker right now? He can’t hit a shot when we need one? Do you even watch basketball? Parker can score; he averaged over 20 points while shooting a great percentage while Bosh was out with his knee injury.

Apr.9 at 2:57 pm

FLUXLAND says:
vmcb…what’s this basketball you speak of? cuz when i watch the raptors play that is not basketball.. its anything but that.
Parker can score… sure.. just not when we NEED buckets .. as in the 4th q.
And the fact he scored more points when Bosh was out is not that big a surprise now is it? DUH! I would take MoPete anyday over that scrub.. at least he made shots in the clutch.. I don’t really care if you can score in the 1st 3qs. How many games has Parker cost us this year.. do YOU watch basketball? Check out his 4thq production on 82games.com.. NEGATIVE 27
yeah he’s def. our lebron james in the fourth.

TMT says:
Time to trade Bosh and get nothing back in return for him…. sounds framilar right?

Apr.9 at 4:04 pm

FLUXLAND says:
TMT… I’m stopping short of saying that..but I don’t think he will resign here unless something drastic happens in the meantime. Of course we know that won’t happen. They should assign the Raptors to the NBDL and call it a day. They are a joke.

Apr.9 at 4:13 pm

TMT says:
At least they made the playoffs, Chris doesn’t need to graduate this year does he?

Apr.9 at 4:28 pm

FLUXLAND says:
I wouldn’t say they made the playoffs.. it more like they find themselves in the playoffs due to other teams being dysfunctional. One game under .500 does not deserve the playoffs.
HHAHAHA! I don’t think he needs to graduate but he is due for the annual CB4 plantar fasciitis.. hopefully right before the 1st game.. then I can enjoy Detroit beating them by an average of 30pts per game while setting all kinds of unwanted playoff records. One can only hope!

Apr.9 at 6:22 pm

FLUXLAND,
@Jess: Battier and Parker are the same player? Are you kidding me? Parker couldn’t hit a shot when we need one if his life depended on it. Please don’t insult Battier like that again. Getting rid of Parker Kapono and Delfino is the 1st step in the right direction. MoPete.. we miss you! First of all Parker is one of the few Raps that have had a consistent season (he started a bit slow but he is a consistant player) and ya I think Battier and Parker are SIMILAR (I suggest you read things over) They both play good defence and they are both glue guys - consistant and help their teams without putting up huge numbers!! And clearly you hate the Raptors, and I cant believe some of your comments - wow- so why are you wasting your time trying to make sly, ridiculous comments about a team you think doesn’t deserve to be where they are? Oh and you keep saying Parker can’t score when we need him, I seem to remember a game in Washington earlier this season where he was pretty clutch, wouldnt you say? I actually cant figure out if you’re a Raps fan or not, you keep saying us and referring to watching the Raps, so you are on here absolutely ripping them to shreds yet referring to them as a part of you? Do you usually spend time watching and paying attention to things that you hate so much? hmmm, that would be like me wasting all of my time watching Vince Carter play……

FLUXLAND says:
Jess.. I am a Raptors fan. I think the difference is I may be a little more realistic about who they are as a team. I’m not gonna sit here and imply Battier and Parker are similar player when it could be nothing but further from the truth. The main difference being CLUTCH play. I see you didn’t mention anything regarding his NEGATIVE 27 rating in the clutch. Care to explain that?
Why would I want someone on the team who is useless during the most crucial time of the game? Like I said, what good does it do if you perform for 36 minutes only to disappear for the most important 12? You mention ONE game where he made some shots, but fail to mention the other 70 plus games he plays in.
I’m happy that you like to look at the Raptors thru pink glasses.. I for one, choose not to.

Apr.9 at 6:35 pm

FLUXLAND says:
And watching Carter play (as much as i dislike how he exited TO) is approximately 10000000000 times better then watching Parker shoot bricks in the 4th

dude…you can pretend all you want that your posts witty, pointed analysis. dry your eyes & stop sucking up to the craptor critics. the raptors are underachieving, sure, that’s obvious.
but, dude, they’re re-build-ing. i guess a little success spoiled you. that’s ok, it happens.
