Pat Riley Is Prepared to Refund Heat Fans
Things are so dismal in Miami that Riley is ready to give season ticket holders their money back.
(But it’s not all bad news: D-Wade isn’t looking to jump ship.)

Mutoni, you are almost prophetic. Riley just announced that he is stepping down for a undiclosed period of time to scout draft prospects. Seriously.

Are there still Heat fans? Keep in mind, Gilbert said the same thing D-Wade is saying at this stage of the negotiations. And, now Gil plans to test the market this summer.

Pat Riley — channeling his inner Lon Kruger apparently. Too bad he didn’t guarantee the playoffs to start the season.

He may as well, he hasn’t been coaching very well lately. Maybe he also wants to see what impact a different voice from the sidelines has on this sorry a$s team.

And yes, Capitan, there are still fans here in flah.

The Heat wont be right until Wade gets back to his normal pre-injury self. He is nowhere near the player he was last year before the injury, in which he was carrying the heat to the playoffs without shaq above .500, his co-starters being Payton, Alonzo both way past their prime and a stiff in Haslem and my boy Posey (No marion, no Odom)…….. dropping 40 and 10 dimes on the regular, number 1 ranked player in the NBA (PER), made all-defense, had a great d-rating (which is terrible this year)…. Then he got hurt. Once he is back to pre-injury status (Which he will be, he’s only 25 years old, he’ll be back next year), the HEAT will be back on track. No way IN HELL that a team with a 07 version of Dwyane Wade loses more than 5 games in a row, or wins any less than 30 games in a season. No matter whos around him. He is about 25% of his old self right now. Next year he will be back and so will the heat, and I sure hope he dont get hurt again because it would be a shame to never see the special player we saw in 04 plus 04 playoffs and 05 and 05 playoffs, and 06 and 06 playoffs and espeically the guy we saw last year in 06/07 season and MOST ESPECIALLY the player we saw in the 2006 nbA Finals………. Get well D-Wade.

It’s funny, because Wade is actually coming out looking worse for trying to be a good professional. I guess he should have sat out like Shaq due to his “injury” who somehow has managed to come out looking like a hero (to Phoenix) and a victim (of Miami). Wade has stated that he is playing because he owes it to his teammates and the fans. Yet, he would have better protected his public reputation if he went the Shaq route, even though in Wade’s case, the injuries actually are legitimate. And, no, not even the best player in the NBA could get Miami to the playoffs. One player can carry an offense. One player can NOT carry a defense. And the Heat don’t have one. Remember Kobe in 05 coming off of knee surgery, his team won only 30 games and they lost 16 of their last 18 games…… and he had Lamar Odom and Caron Butler with ihm for that year… but he shot the lowest pct of his career, had a career high in turnovers (4.2 per game, same as wade), his PER was way down, his d-rating down, everything……. it was his first year being the man, with no shaq in town and he was coming off injury at only 26 years old…. sound familiar? Wade is way more hurt with less talent around him and his team and he is worse….. (Numbers: Kobe in 05: 26.5 ppg, 40.4mpg, 23.2 PER, 43% field goals, 4.2 turnovers a game, 5.9 rpg, 5.5 apg, 2.0 spg, 0.5bpg; Wade this year; 24.6 ppg, 38.7 mpg, 22.1 PER, 46% field goals, 4.3 turnovers a game, 4.7 rpg, 6.9 apg, 2.1 spg, and 0.9 bpg)…. very similar numbers first year without Shaq on BAD teams at 25 years old coming off of knee surgery (Wade serious surgery, Kobe minor surgery).

Kobe Bryant would NEVER go 11-48 on the season at this stage. Lebron James? HELL NO. Even if they were playing with Bill Murray and the Wu Tang Clan. This is a clear example of why Wade is not the top level superstar many have made him out to be. He’s talented, no doubt, but he gets WAY too many calls and has been in the right place at the right times to inflate what it is he really does. He’s not on Kobe or Bron’s level.
