Jason Kidd Is Sticking to His Story

by Marcel Mutoni

By now, everyone has accepted and dealt with the notion that Kidd forced his way out of Jersey. It was obvious to anyone who followed the team: his agent was said to be demanding a trade (which Jason denied, naturally); Kidd sat out a game with a “migraine”; and when the point guard came out and said the Nets were terrible and had no hope, the writing was on the wall.

Kidd, though, insists that he was playing hard until his last second in a Net uniform.

“I didn’t quit on the team,” said Kidd. “The ride was over. At the end of the day, I gave everything that I could give to the Nets. There were no more rabbits that I could pull out of the hat. There were no more rabbits that Rod (Thorn) could pull out of a hat. That is as far as they could go. I took them as high as I could.”

Kidd, though hard to believe, does make an interesting point: His stay in the swamp ended the same way it began. With a victory.

The Nets visit their former point guard in Dallas this Saturday. Can you say Triple Double?

jason kidd wouldnt do something like that. even if he did get sick of losing with the nets, hes not the kind of player that would do something like that.

His belief was maybe not there, but his effort on the court sure was. Co-sign RV.

Maybe if he hadn’t given up he would have averaged a triple double instead of almost averaged one……. Haha!

Look, nobody can stop CP3 - not JKidd, and not Devin Harris either. And Tony Parker lit up Devin Harris for like 25, 7, and 8 the other day.

^i was thinking the same

Russ Bengtson says:
Devin Harris is DEFINITELY not ready to lead a championship team right now. Assuming the Mavericks think their window is closing, trading for Jason Kidd wasn’t a bad idea. They still won’t win, though.

Captain America says:
I like Devin’s future over J-Kidd’s. Although I could see J-Kidd pitching artitis pills over the airwaves in a year or two. CP3 and Deron Williams will be amongst the top ten PGs in history.

Scott A.E. Smith says:
It’s Vince’s fault.

RV says:
and thats why it was a bad idea, they should have realized kidd wasn’t enough to win it and trade devin for someone who can pair up with dirk/terry/howard for the next 5 years, instead they pushed (what appeared to be) the easy button

I’m co-signing what Russ said. The Mavericks trade seemed to ba “lets shake things up cause everybody else is” type of move. I still think they never got over the Warriors either

Kidd’s sticking to his bogus story. His fake headache was an obvious attempt to get what he wanted. Otherwise, he would have actually shown up at the game, like every other player does when he isn’t feeling well. Dallas is in the 7th spot out west and is about 2 games from falling out of the Playoffs all together. They are 0-4 against above .500 teams since Kidd has arrived. They better get their acts together or Kidd will demand out again. He will just keep burning bridges until he can find his little title.

But don’t forget, he wants his $20 million extension when he’s 37 years old!

Maybe he learned from Vince how to quit but still produce good numbers.

Basically he’s trying to say “I’m not Vince.”

Vince Carter= 9/10 man, 1/10 amazin’.

I don’t even know why this is an issue. If he didnt quit on the team then he damn sure should have. When you have a guy like vince playing like a lil Biatch the past couple of seasons, methinks kidd is entitled to do wtf he wants.

I understand where J Kidd is coming from. If your on a team that just can’t win then why stay?
