For Camby, it pays big to play

After playing in his 65th game this year, Camby has earned an extra two million dollars as a seasonal bonus for games played. Camby says it’s all about winning games. Also, good news for Nene.

Wow. 2 million?! That’s a huge bonus. Grats to MC, good to see him healthy. He’s one of my favorites.

his contract is incentive laden, he mentions it on his blog on nba.com, he gets more for blocks, minutes and community service

Hey,maybe I could get a 2 million dollar bonus to sit on the bench for 65 games…that would be good…way to go Marcus.

at least the dude is in the nba and making 2 million on the side. Please don’t be a hater. It’s not that easy being injured all the time.

haven’t had a sick day in 3 years. I’m gonna get paid!
Oh wait, I’m not.
Anyway, Camby for DPOY once again? In my opinion: yes.

You all don’t get a bonus at the end of the year?
Thats the same thing? Sure not amount wise… unless your MCamby or Jerry Seinfeld.

DPOY on the worst defensive team in the L? I doubt it. I’d give it to Battier just cause he’s the ultimate team player that plays hard on every possession. But disregarding his douchebaggity, Bowen deserves it I guess.

Mar.24 at 11:17 pm

Dacre says:
So your giving it to Battier NOT because he is the best defensive player in the league…(as the award suggests its for…) but to someone who is the “ultimate team player”…in other words he doesn’t do a crapsticle load of anything overtly worthwhile. Surely its gotta go to Kobe. He deserves something this year, because he aint getting MVP, he aint getting a finals ring and he aint getting $2 million big ones with the “camby clasue”

Two million is twice the amount that David Lee made this year. I find that funny. Pay disparity between NBA players, let alone between them and normal people, is wild. Good for Marcus, though.

think about it though… what does K-Mart make if he plays 65(if thats possible). thatd be damn near 5 million considering his past 3 years.

Gerard Himself says:
Dacre: you don’t think Kobe is going to win the MVP award? Crazy. We can discuss this all day long, but out of Chris Paul, LeBron and KG Kobe has to win it. Maybe by a small margin, but he should win!

Good for Camby being healthy.
Years ago I got a Knicks jersey for Christmas (hey, I lived there at the time): it was Sprewell’s–before I grew to love him. All I knew is that he was a coach strangler. So, I traded it for Camby’s because I loved his tenacity. For years he was rather invisible but lately his stats have been pretty sweet again, reminding me of why I really liked him. Is it true he led the ncaa in point average?

Wish the Raps would have kept him around instead of dealing him so quick. But Oak did bless us with his behind the back bounce passes into the press row.
The Camby man can!

Dacre says:
GERARD H: I am not saying Kobe doesn’t deserve it. He’s done ALOT to drag the Lakers back to the top of the Western Conference dog fight… I just don’t see him getting it. Lets face it. The voters don’t like him. He won’t get it this year….. KGarnett will only because it’s a coaches call…every coach loves KG.

tealish says:
Dacre… what I meant was that Bowen deserves it and Battier should be runner-up. My heart wants to give it to Battier because he plays the game hard but straightup - while the latter cannot be said about flykicking Bruce Lee.
But again, my main point: No player on a team that consistently gives up uncontested layups in game-deciding possessions can win the DPOY award, even IF he does block 3 shots a game.
