Dispute: Mark Cuban vs Avery Johnson
The Lakers and Mavs played a frantic game on Tuesday night; Dallas trimmed a huge Laker lead in the fourth quarter and nearly pulled off a miraculous comeback. Afterwards, Avery Johnson took his sweet time before facing the media, and it turns out that it was because he was busy yelling back at team owner Mark Cuban
Cuban said the dispute was not over “anyone in particular,” and he did not elaborate on what set off the spontaneous dialogue.
“It was one of our ‘exchanges’ we have every so often,” Cuban said. “Happens every year with every coach.”
Why the anger, Mark? Did Avery start up a blog or something?
Dallas currently holds the seventh Playoff seed in the West, and portentously, they have yet to beat a team with a .500 record or better since they swung the Jason Kidd deal.
A few months from now, Cuban - who’s clearly desperate for a ring - may grow tired of yelling at his team’s head coach, and simply start shopping for a new one.

Cuban is my idol. He is a billionaire and a basketball fanatic who owns a NBA team. But when he traded away Nash, telling the press he doesn’t want to overpay a 30 yrs old pg. And after Nash collected 2 MVP trophies, Cuban still said he made the right decision. Then of course he went out and get a 35 yrs old Jason Kidd. Cuban is obviously a brilliant business man, but maybe he should hire someone to take care of the basketball decision from now on……

2 terrific Point Guard doesn’t mean well in one team. It was the clash of Avery and Kidd actually.
If Mavs ever want this trade to work, they had to let go Avery Johnson.

Avery Johnson can’t coach. I agree that the Kidd trade was reactionary and stupid but, I lay the meltdown at his feet. He is the coach he has to work with the players he has and he has a better than average lineup. Pulling Kidd at the end of the Spurs game, great coaching move. Changing the starting lineup of a team that won 67 games another great coaching move. Avery got handed one of the best teams and the league and has underachieved. If I was spending 100 million plus like Cuban I would be pissed too.

look people dirk is fine he just does not have guys around him at present to win, terry stackhouse, dampier all losers from losing teams if they are asked top step up they cant do it so nowitizi is forced to take the big shots from difficult spots like kobe or jordan can only do and it does not help that hes a power forward not a 2 gaurd . did anyone see the last play against the lakers the other day? are you telling me thats the best shot you can get with four seconds only down by 2 wheres the play calling at ? that would be avery johnson who should be fired if this team does not get atleats 2 the 2and round and make a strong showing- jason

Avery has 3 years and about 15 mil left on his contract. Atlanta could be a nice spot for him. Maybe he can finally get player that go toward the rim. Avery being the scapegoat for the Mavs problems is pure bs. A coach’s job is to put in a position to win, the players have to execute. I cant blame Avery for the Heat series. Its not his fault that the Mavs forget how to run an offense in the last 6 minutes of game 3 or Josh Howard has mental lapse in game 5, or Jason Terry played the role of John Starks in game 6. The Golden St meltdown he gets blame for, I agree with, because the Mavs should’ve went all out to eliminate the Warriors in the second to last game of the season. Also, not playing Damp in game 1 set the tone for the series. Kidd has been borderline bad since he’s been here. Has the man forgot how to drive to the basket? What the hell happened to the guy that use get 7-8 freethrows a game?
