D-Wade is Dunzo!

For the Season

by Marcel Mutoni

Make room, Yao Ming. Another superstar is on the shelf for the remainder of the season.

Finally having come to their senses, the Miami Heat and Dwyane Wade have decided it best for the former NBA Finals MVP to sit out the Heat’s final 21 games.

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade is scheduled to undergo a follow-up procedure on his surgically repaired left knee, and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

‘’I think it’s time. We’ve been walking around on eggshells with this thing,'’ Riley said about Wade. “This treatment will help him.'’

I can’t find the link at the moment, but I read a story over the weekend in which Riley said D-Wade could barely get out bed on game days due to the pain in his creaky joints. Yeah, it was definitely time to take a break.

Here’s to getting up for the proverbial eighth time (and quickly), Dwyane.

While its far beyond my ken to predict wat D Widdy would do,wat he should be doing is study those Pistol Pete tapes..too many TO’s when going to the basket…and extend the range of his J..he shouldn’t be trying to dunk on fools all the time, now that he has Mark “I-wanna-be-a-small-forward” Blount in the middle…

SURE HOPE WADE GETS BACK TO PRE-INJURY FORM FOR NEXT YEAR AS HE IS ENTERING THE BEGINNING OF HIS PRIME. HE IS A TRUE GREAT YOUNG PLAYER, VERY SPECIAL TALENT. I SURE HOPE WE GET TO SEE THE SAME DWYANE WADE THAT WE SAW IN HIS FIRST FOUR SEASONS, ESPECIALLY THE 06 AND 07 SEASONS AND THE 05 AND 06 PLAYOFFS, I HOPE WE GET TO SEE THAT WADE AGAIN ASAP STARTING NEXT SEASON……… HE’ll PROBABLY BE EVEN BETTER AS HE IS HEADING INTO THE START OF HIS PRIME AND SHOULD BE MOrE MOTIVATED THEN EVER. THIS REST IS CRUCIAL TO HIM, REST FOR 3 MONTHS TO GET PAST JUMPERS KNEE AND BACK TO 100% HEALTH. THIS IS VERY GOOD, I SURE HOPE WE SEE THE ReAL DWADE AGAIN NeXT YEAR!!!!

Mar.11 at 9:06 pm

Steve says:
I hope D Wade gets back to pre-injury form next year as he’s entering the start of his prime and he plays to the level that he did in his 2nd, 3rd, n 4th seasons in the league for the next 10 years until he’s 35 (the age MJ was when retiring from the Bulls for the last time)… i hope he does that + plays as he did pre-injury and regains that form as he enters his prime. PS: I sure hope he does get healthy and regain his pre-injury form as the special player we saw in the 04, 05, 06 + especially 07 seasons and MOST ESPECIALLY in the 05 + 06 playoffs… he is a GREAT young player. It would be a shame if injuries dont allow him to get back to normal again as he’s entering his prime, only 25 years old… that would be a shame, hes a special talent and very fun to watch especially in big games. One can only hope we see the real DWade again ASAP. It will be a shame if injuries ruin that, as a fan that would REALLY REALLY SUCK, because DWade is a true great young player and a special talent that is VERY VERY VERY fun to watch, especially in big games. He plays the right way, dominates the game without dominating the ball, super-athletic, great first step, good defender, great passer, makes his teammates better….. everything and he’s only 25 years old…………………………………….. as a true diehard fan I hope to GOD that Wade gets back to 100% health and pre-injury form for next season. I really do, and I think all real basketball fans feel the same way.

Steve says:
Kobe was 26 years old coming off knee surgery in 2005 when he put up the worst numbers of his career in his first year without shaq and was on a lottery team that had lost 16 out of 18 games and had a losing streak of 11 games at another point. ………………………………………………………………………………….
And he had Caron Butler and Lamar Odom on his team (Same guys Wade took to the playoffs as a rookie). …………………………………………………………………………………. Dont give me that “If Kobe was in that position” BS. Because Kobe WAS in a very similar situation at a similar age(a year older) and went right to the lottery while putting up career low numbers coming off knee surgery (Minor)with a better supporting cast (MUcH BETTER). …………………………………………………………………………………. Kobe averaged 26.5 points on 43% shooting (Wade: 24.7 ppg on 46% shooting), kobe averaged 4.1 turnovers a night (Wade:4.3 turnovers), Kobe averaged 5.6 apg and 5.9 rpg (Wade: 6.9 apg, 4.7 rpg), and Kobe had a 23.2 PER and 41 mpg (Wade: 22.6 PER, 38 mpg) ………………………………………………………………………………….
Kobe’s team was a 30 win team, Wade’s will finish with about 18, but wAde is a year younger than Kobe was, Wade has a MUCH WORSE supporting cast and a SerIOUS knee injury (Kobe’s was minor), plus Dwyanes shoulder wasnt even mentioned. Both cases are guys in their first year without Shaq.

Mar.11 at 9:08 pm

Steve says:
Dwade was rightfully so compared to the best of the best.
…………………………………………………………………………………. Dude obviously isnt anywhere NEAR the player he was last year. he is injured. …………………………………………………………………………………. He flat-out had the best NBA finals performance a swingman has had since MJ as a YOUNGSTER at only 24 years old. He killed it in the 2005 playoffs and 2006 playoffs.
………………………………………………………………………………….
in 05-06 he was 3rd in the NBA in PER and the best player on a championship team. HE FINISHED 5TH for the MVP award. He is a true franchise player and special talent, an elite player WHEN HEALTHY…….. BEFORE HE GOT INJUrED He WAS ALL OF tHAT. …………………………………………………………………………………. He led the league in PER last year, the number 1 rated player in the league carrying a shaq-less Miami team to a .500 record…. and then he got injured. ……………………………………….. SO THOSE COMPARISONS WERE RIGHTFULLY SO UNTIL HE GOT HURT…………………………….. I JUST HOPE AND PRAY TO GOD THAT HE gETS BACK TO PRE-INJURY FORM aNd 100% HEALTH ASAP AND HAS A LONG AND HEALTHY CAREER SO US AS fANs DONT HAVE to MISS OUT oN WHAT OWULD BE a TRUE GREAT PLAYER GOING INTO THE START OF HIS PRIME!!!

Mar.11 at 9:10 pm

Steve says:
WhaHuh, i knew a shooting guard that didnt shoot 3’s for oh say about his first 10 years in the league. ……………………………………………………………………………..
Name was Michael Jordan, he was pretty good Shooting Guard too.

Mar.11 at 9:16 pm

Steve says:
All Miami has to do is get rid of Marion so they can grab Elton Brand. And then sign a Diop to start at the 5, convince Zo to come back and play backup 5 for a year. Then go grab Damon Jones to start in the backcourt next to a 100% healthy Wade next year and a sharpshooting/defending small forward (Ex: Posey, Battier, Bowen, etcetera) to start at the 3. ………………………………………………………………………………….
Then fill up the rest of the roster with roleplayers thru the draft (NBA-Ready 2nd round picks like Big Baby, Landry, etc……. and low-priced veteran free agents like Posey, House, etc……..), and plus your lottery pick unless you need to trade it for Elton Brand…….. if Jermaine Oneal is healthy and back to form he could be an option if Brand isnt……………………………………………………………………………. Riley will get it done. He’s on the right path. This rest will get Wade recovered completely from the jumpers knee (You need rest, 3 months to get past that. This is a great thing for Heat fans and all NBA fans that love to watch great players).
