Adidas Junior Phenom Camp Preview

By Sammy Newman-Beck

While college hoops heads into March Madness, the Adidas Junior Phenom Camp will head to Derry, New Hampshire for it’s first ever New Hampshire located Phenom Camp. The camp, which features recruiting services like Hoop Scoop, Elevation Sports, and yours truly (SLAM), is rounding up all the top 4th-9th graders in the New Hampshire area to compete in a two day, drills, skills and game camp.

The Camp, whose other affiliates includes Adidas Phenom Top 150, Adidas Phenom  Elite Camp, Adidas Phenom Boot Camp, Get Recognized Prep Champ and ESPN, will give each player a barometer of how they measure and rank amongst the top players in their state and area. Players will receive unique Adidas junior uniforms along with an MVP award for each age group. The best players in the camp will also earn a roster spot on the national level Phenom camp, which is held annually in San Diego, California.

While many people dislike camps and/or skill sessions for kids at such a young age, these Junior Phenom Camps aim to educate and assist kids in life, let alone basketball.  While the camp mainly consists games throughout the day, there are also lecture sessions in  which coaches and teachers educate the campers on how to succeed in school and stay away from the troubles heading into high school.

To sign up for the March 21st-22nd weekend camp you can visit their website at www.nhadidasphenom.com/index.html or contact Camp Director Jason Murray at (617) 650-5660.
