Worthy of Your Attention

by Marcel Mutoni

One team, without their superstar forward, is playing maddeningly (if typically) inconsistent ball. The other is enjoying perhaps the finest season in team history. This is the story of the Nuggets vs. the Hornets.

The good news for Denver is that Carmelo Anthony should be back in the lineup tonight; the bad news is that they have to face an absolutely scorching-hot Hornets team, winners of eight straight. Their last win was a beatdown of the Spurs in San Antonio. They are not to be taken lightly.

The fact that Chris Paul isn’t the starting point guard for the Western All-Stars is reason enough to outlaw fan voting. Regardless, it’ll be a pleasure to watch Paul and the guy who took his spot on the All-Star squad (Alley I.) chase each other around all night.

While we’re here: Can Byron Scott start getting some Coach of the Year love, please? And if he gets the award, I hope they remodel the trophy so that the coach’s arms are permanently crossed.

It’s not like Allen Iverson doesn’t deserve the spot.

thank you for the byron scott love, he aint getting any cuz of doc rivers and nate macmillan , byron desearves it cuz 1. celtics were gonna be good whoever coached them and avery johnson didnt get coach of the year last year with all those wins so doc is out, nat needs to make the playoffs for him to be condsidered, so yeah byron took a team that some peopole projected to be 5th in the southwest and not make the playoffs so yes byron had done a great job,

til this day i still don’t understand why people like tim duncan or (say a few years back ben wallace) are in the allstar game. It should be just a game for fun and entertainment. People like Duncan just make it boring.. really. i wouldn’t mind if you had 5 guards playing against each other.. that would probably be more entertaining that watching duncan, dirk, yao, or ben wallace go at it

Byron has only had success when he’s coached teams that have the best pg in the league. His website, however, is hilarious. http://www.coachbyronscott.com/index.htm

Always remember: Doc Rivers “led” the C’s to one of the worst records in team history just 10 months ago. But throw KG and Jesus Shuttleworth on with Paul Pierce and I think anyone could lead them to a Finals appearance. As for the Bees: tonight’s going to be a great night! BTW, while AI v CP3 will get all the pub, don’t discount Camby v Chandler. That ought to be a battle!

Allen Iverson is a very deserving starter. I’m sure Nutgrabber will get plenty of minutes off the bench anyway.

The All Star game would be better if it was 4 on 4 and played on the court in my apartment complex.

Pretty funny that Lord Byron is absolutely a Coach of the Year candidate while his replacement in Jersey is about six months past his expiration date.
Fredo: If we’re gonna remember that about Doc’s past, we should also remember that he previously won Coach of the Year for shepherding a star-less Magic squad (their leading scorer, Darrell Armstrong, averaged 16.2 points a game) to a .500 record when everyone thought they were garbage. Also, don’t ever take sides with anyone against the Family again. Ever.

I think the Nuggets should fire George Karl

Jan.30 at 2:42 am

ENOUGH! says:
Yeah, I agree with everyone that says Iverson deserves to start the All-Star game as well, so give me a break and quit acting as if Iverson is robbing somebody for the spot. Iverson has started in like seven All-Star games so this is nothing new to him. Chris Paul deserves to start….Steve Nash deserves to start…but so does Iverson, the problem is that the West is so deep. Iverson is a SG, a combo gaurd….not a pure PG, so its not like he is taking anything away from anyone. It wouldn’t be any different then Tracy McGrady starting all these years out West and either him or Kobe having to play the PG position. And yes, arthur I agree that the Nuggets should fire George Karl. And by the way, the Nuggets were playing “inconsistant ball” with Carmelo in the line-up…so its not like his presense is that much of a factor, quit trying to pump that dude up. They need EVERYONE back and healthy.
