Captain America says:
Nothing new here, Kidd has been a leading rebounder throughout his career, averaging 9 boards per game. He is a complete baller.

Captain America says:
Note also that J-Kidd is 6′ 4′’ while Magic is 6′9″. J-Kidd averages 9 boards per game while Magic averaged 7.2.

Somebody have to get those rebounds in Jersey, because big guys don’t seem to do anything like that. Kidd grabs 3 more rebounds per game than any of his teammates. Guy is unbeliveable. No question why he wants to get the f. out from NJ.

Gumdrop says:
No disrespect to Kidd, dude is an unreal rebounder, but Magic’s career was cut somewhat short and he played with the likes of Kareem and Worthy, who were were mildly better than Nenad and Jason Collins.

Gumdrop says:
That said, he probably has a better nose for the ball off of a miss than Magic ever did.

Blue says:
Can: Big O, Clyde Drexler and Jordan…in that order.
Jan.2 at 3:55 pm
Blue says:
Once he ties Magic, he’ll only be 118 boards away from tying Glide for 2nd place, but he’ll have to play until TJ Kidd gets drafted to catch Big O, who has 1,127 more than Clyde.

The Nets frontcourt has been amazingly terrible since Kenyon Martin left.

Also, Kidd’s career rebounding average is 6.7 a game. Where did 9 come from? (He’s averaging 8.6 this year, but that’s just this year.)

Ryan Jones says:
Note also, Magic’s got five rings. Kidd used to have one.

OOOOOOOHH sick burn, Ryan.

Mark Z says:
Well, with guys like Jason Collins patrolling the paint, chances are you’re going to get some of the 20+ boards he misses per game… Seriously though, JKidd is a great all around player. Too bad the Nets are wasting his prime years…

i remember few weeks back and van gundy and the crew were talking about top five point guards in the league and none of the commentators put kidd in top 5. van gundy’s excuse was that his team sucks. so if your team sucks you are definitely not one of the best guys in the league at your position??!! kidd’s amazing!

ak47 says:
Top 10 point guards of all time: 1. Magic Johnson
2. Isiah Thomas
3. Oscar Robinson
4. Jason Kidd
5. Tiny Archibald
6. Walt Frazier
7. Gary Payton
8. John Stockton
9. Kevin Johnson
10.Jerry West
11. Steve Nash (who will move into the top as soon as he wins a championship or at least gets to the finals.)
Jan.2 at 6:55 pm
Sesa says:
Wasn’t that a coincidence? Maybe Kidd asked his coach not to move Collins out of starting lineup so he can get more rebounds.

Captain America says:
ak47, you’re light on the legends. The big O is top and Jerry West is within the top 3. And I don’t even see Hondo on the list.

tenorca says:
Aren’t Frazier & Tiny legends? And Stockton, as much as I hate that dirty b*stard?
Jan.2 at 7:55 pm
Russ Bengtson says:
Hondo? John Havlicek was definitely not a point guard. Neither was Jerry West, for that matter.

jub_al says:
Russ’ has as point, Jerry West was definitely not a point guard… as for ak47’s list, again, as much as i dislike stockton (mainly because he’s so good with such little style, making him a pain to watch…) i’d say he’s top five all-time.

You boyz drinkiin’ something? West played PG while Gale Goodrich played 2. From NBA.com: Goodrich scored 20.0 ppg and 7.5 apg the following year, but was traded back to the Lakers in exchange for 7-0 center Mel Counts. Lakers owner Jack Kent Cooke, an admirer of Goodrich, was thrilled to get him back. The trade paid major dividends for the Los Angeles club. Under Coach Bill Sharman, West’s role had changed: he had become a playmaker, averaging 9.5 assists in 1970-71 and a league-leading 9.7 in 1971-72. Meanwhile, Goodrich thrived as the beneficiary of West’s passes. He came into his own in 1971-72, leading the team in scoring and ranking fifth in the NBA with 25.9 ppg. He also ranked third in the league in free-throw percentage (.850) and made his second All-Star Game appearance.

Gumdrop says:
The point is Cap’n, “West’s role had changed.” He didn’t play the point for the majority of his career. Plus, and this is directed to AK-47, the Glove at no. 7 all time is way too high.

Get out of NJ, Jason. Fast. I’d had enough of seeing Carter jacking up horrible jumpers AND is still considered bu so-called fans the best player of the Nets. That’s just disgusting.
