Good News for Shaun Livingston
The Clippers are having themselves an awful season. If this was five years ago, you’d say, “So what? The Clips have always been terrible.” But with their emergence over the last couple of seasons, their fans expect more these days. Uncle Injury, though, had other ideas.
Elton Brand, the team’s best player, and Shaun Livingtson, the point guard of the future who injured his knee in horrific fashion last season, haven’t played a single game this year. According to team doctors, that could change. Shaun is expected to make a full recovery, and could return before season’s end.
“The medical team feels he’s going to make a full recovery,” team president Andy Roeser said at halftime of Wednesday night’s game against the Orlando Magic. “There’s a pretty good chance he’ll be on the court before the end of the season.”
With Sam Cassell frustrated and no longer able to locate the fountain of youth, this is encouraging news for Clipper Nation. The team may not do a whole lot this season, but with a full and healthy roster next year, they certainly have a shot at making the Playoffs again.

I was waiting for someone to mention how dire the Clips have been. I don’t see that changing anytime soon though. I give them 2 more years before they’re back in playoff territory.

Shaun, you may as well wait until next year. No reason to come back and play this year.

I don’t want the Clippers in the playoffs. Ever. They’ve always been perfectly fine NBA filler material, and outside the early 2000’s, have never had an exciting team to watch (that i know of). They should’ve stayed as sucky as they used to be, as they are this year. Clippers in the playoffs=not cool

I hope he does come back…nobody deserves to have a career end so young. Right Bobby Hurley?

Shaun would be racking up the triple doubles as we discuss this if he weren’t for that most unfortunate injury. He deserves a full recovery. I for one, am definitely praying for the brotha–not only because of his talent, but because he is a good dude. Crossing paths with him a couple of times, he always has something good to say about people. He’s one of those cats that just gets it.

I don’t know about racking up triple doubles Michael, if he didn’t do it in his first 3 years what makes you think he would in year 4? Not to be pessimistic though. He’s got tons of talent, just needs to develop it. Hopefully he comes back strong.

they aint gonna make the playoffs next year either, even with Shaun and Elton back. Those injuries can down your level of play for a long time. And the west is way too good to let the Clips emerge as a Playoff team

I really hope that all goes well for both of them. Shaun shouldn’t rush back to playing. I know that’s hard, and no one likes to not play, but he should do what’s best for his body. Rehab, then get some extra muscle mass before going full out. No one wants to see a repeat of that.

Agreed, TAD. Why risk coming back too soon when the season is basically lost as it is? What I wouldn’t give to have Dunleavy fired.

I’m with you Subway, dude definately needs to bulk up to protect himself. The one thing I don’t like about Livingston is that by being a tall, pass-first point, crappy TV analysts immediately compare him to Magic. Not that it’s his fault, but still.

it just gets me mad when i hear things like this, when a young star is on the rise, i dont get angry at shaun, but i get angry at what destiny, it just seems unfair for a guy like that, he was a good guy, but thankfully now, “slick gun” livingston is back

If Shaun Livingston can be out playing on the court before the season ends might help the Clippers stay out of the Lottery. But for the Clippers to make the playoffs they are going to have to have Elton Brand playing and I don’t think he’ll be back. Shaun Livingston will help the Clippers infinatly!

as much as i dislke saying it, maybe its better for Shaun and Brand to just sit out the rest of the season, theyre season is dead anyway, however if the team was around 50% then it may be a different story and they would return on time. the lotterry would be good for the clips-just like most years, we see what happens to Wade etc.
