according to the NBA.com Player News - “Ford is reportedly “doing better” after a scary fall in Tuesday’s game at Atlanta, the Canadian Press reports. Ford is scheduled to return to Toronto on Wednesday.”

Hoop Dreamz says:
That was scary, but it was obvious from jump that Al didn’t do it maliciously. His reaction to TJ’s fall said it all, then after the game he basically said TJ fooled him with a good move. He looked like he didn’t know what to do for a second.

http://www.nationalpost.com/sports/story.html?id=163661 -–Ford is expected to be released from Piedmont Hospital later Wednesday morning after escaping a serious injury the previous night in a game against the Atlanta Hawks. During the final minutes of Toronto’s 100-88 victory over Atlanta, Ford took a frightening spill when he was fouled by Hawks rookie forward Al Horford. Ford, who has a history of neck and spinal injuries, was taken off the court on a stretcher. But less than 24 hours later, Ford apparently is in stable medical condition. “He’s feeling much better,” Raptors spokesman Jamie Deans told PA SportsTicker. “It wasn’t as bad as it looked, although it obviously wasn’t good.”–

Im glad to learn that TJ is doing better. I was watching the Raps game last night and thie first thing I did this mornign was look for updates. TJ ford is a warrior and my thoughts and prayers go out to him, his family, and the Raptors organization. Both TJ and Horford showed that they were class acts about the whole situation. Tonight @7pm - Raps vs. Mavs - we all KNOW that is he could he would be there so lets get this one for TJ.

Out of all the basketball news, this relieves me the most. The guy can both dish it out and score, he’s like the way Larry Hughes woulda been, you know, if Larry Hughes could pass or score. If TJ Ford just was never injured all the time, he’d be a 20-7 threat every night. His constantly missing games have kept him inconsistent, but I’m glad he at least still has a chance to keep ballin’ his heart out.

It was kind of him to apologize, but i can’t see how the hit wasn’t intentional. the RESULT was unintended, but Horford was clearly going for TJ’s head…the hand/arm with the ball was extended well beyond Horford’s reach, much like any chance of the Hawks catching up. totally unnecessary.

Of course the result wasnt intentional - but TJ was going up to lay it in on the right and brought it down and was switching left for the reverse. Horford went for the initial move and unfortunately got TJ in the head/face. I truly beleive he was going for the ball and TJ fooled him with what would have been a sweet move.

nice to hear from Bryan Colangelo in the pre-game interviews this evening. He said Al spent a few hours with TJ and that true to form TJ spent time consoling Al, because the rookie was so shaken up about what had happened. The Hawks organization have also contacted the Raps today to give their sympathies about the injury and to extend their best wishes for TJ. Colangelo said he expects TJ to make it down to the game tonight to support his teammates. So happy to hear that TJ is okay physically. Now, it will be a mental thing, to work past what has happened.

they showed the replay a few times before the raps game tonight and i still think Al meant to hit TJ…he had plenty of time to pull his arm back after Ford switched hands but instead chose to hit TJ in the head - surely to make him miss the layup and have to take free throws but still uncalled for at that point. but its cool that there’s no hard feelings between these guys. having TJ in the lineup tonight would have helped for damn sure tho…

just a rookie mistake / lapse in focus on Horford’s part. he’s still eons more likable than Joakim Noah.

Ridiculous, no one cares about T.J.’s injury for some reason, even the announcer acts like they feel sorry for Horford in this youtube clip than TJ who actually received the bad end of that deal. Now TJ is unsure if he should come back as of today. Look at Barkley, he said Horford shouldnt have received that one game suspension, but that’s ridiculous, even if it was an accident, it still happened. If you run someone over by accident, you still go to jail, that accident garbage won’t hold up in court. I’m seeing that no one really takes TJ’s injury seriously. Horford is a smart guy, he made sure the media knew he was going to the hospital to see TJ, so they had to broadcast it all over to the media, Horford made sure of it to try to get ROY.

Juan Marichal anyone? C’mon, watch the tape. Horford lost his temper and whacked TJ on top of the head in frustration. Right after he did it, he realized he did something terribly wrong and thankfully showed remorse. Horford is lucky he’s getting a slap on the wrist. He should have been bitchslapped and pummeled by the Raptors. He deserves it.
