Knicks Fans Are to Blame
… According to the Knicks, that is.
In a bizarre scene during last night’s home loss to the Mavs, Isiah Thomas reportedly admonished fans in the expensive seats for failing to support his squad.
Longtime season-ticket holder Mara Altschuler claimed that Thomas blamed the fans for the Knicks’ problems. When some fans began chanting Jeff Van Gundy’s name, Thomas replied, “You ran him out of here as well,” according to Altschuler.
The fans in the Mecca can be brutal, this everyone knows, but I doubt their cheers can inspire Eddy Curry to hit the glass harder. Nice try, Zeke.
Zach Randolph, the Knicks’ prized offseason acquisition, seems to be the one most shaken the hometown fans’ lustful boos
“It’s real hard,” Randolph said of the caustic atmosphere. “I ain’t never been in a situation like that, and I don’t understand. I guess they say it’s New York fans. But it’s real tough.”
Hang in there, Zach. It’ll all be over very soon. Or not.
Stern Forces Settlement: The Commish reportedly made the Knicks settle the sexual harassment case with Anucha Browne Sanders. She was awarded $11.5 million.

Man, I feel bad seeing the Knicks get put out every day. I may hate them for Bulls/Heat rivalries in the past, but damn, give the team a chance to at least play competitive ball. Isiah should be murdered. F*ck it, he’s already a martyr. Let him go out in a blaze of glory like Bon Jovi.

Man, I’ve been asking for his head (nh) for the past couple of years, but I was at the game Saturday night and I can’t lie, I felt bad when we started chanting fire isiah in the first half, this is a mans job, this is how he eats, his career…but i came around and realized dude is loaded, and is killing something that i’m very passionate about, and it seems almost intentional. He hasn’t tried to change anything, he just keeps digging himself deeper and deeper, and I can’t believe he’s reached this low. It’s one thing if the team doesn’t produce, but if you’re a sh!t to the fans? Ask Jack McDowell how that one worked out. I feel stupid for saying the same thing everyday, or even hoping that Isiah loses his job, but again, this is bigger than Isiah, it’s Jim Dolan, and realistically, it’s pretty f*cking impossible to oust that man of his job. This sucks.

Two things: 1-Isaiah needs to accept responsibility for his ridiculous lack of coaching/GM abilities. 2-That’s got to be the biggest sexual harrassment settlement in the history of law…

haha na, not even, i don’t kno what it is, I’ve just been reading the mag for so long, and I’ve been wanting to be a basketball writer for so long, and i work for a pretty big media outlet so I guess the “writing for SLAM” dream faded a bit, but at times I realize that I’m talking to guys whose work i’ve admired for a while. I know, it’s a bit corny for the boards, my b on slippin up.

Man, maybe I’m just an idiot. Ok.. I am, but I cannot figure out why everyone is after Isiah. Does Isiah play for the team? NO! Does Isiah go out and plays like it’s a game of one on one like Starbury does? NO! The entire SLAM staff seems to think that his days in the NBA are numbered. Why? Tell me why? Would you just get off the guys case? He’s in the HOF, got two rings, one of the 50 greatest.. and you think this whole mess is his fault. Why? Cuz the guy he picks as their leader is a bigass baby, that refuses to grow up and says sh*t like: “I’m a max player, so at the end of the day I don’t care if we win or lose I still get paid” Someone should shoot Starbury and take him out of his own misery. If that summer interview is not enough for people to understand that the man is unstable, I don’t know what it’s going to take. But Hey, fire Isiah! WTF is that going to solve? Isiah will never get fired.. or be booted out of the NBA.. get real!!! As long as he’s not calling fans mexican pieces of sh*t i’m sure he’ll be fine.

Russ Bengtson says:
Hey FLUX, did you happen to notice who brought in all these players? Who’s supposed to be coaching them? As of right now the Knicks have no established rotation, virtually no plays (I can’t tell you how many times they’ve either turned the ball over or taken a terrible shot out of a time out or on the first play of a quarter), and I can’t think of a single player that’s shown improvement over the last two years. In fact, best I can tell, all their best players (Crawford, Balkman and Lee) have regressed. Yes, Isiah was a terrific player. You know what that means when it comes to his ability as a coach or GM? Absolutely nothing.
Dec.12 at 9:35 pm
FLUXLAND says:
Russ, agreed he brought them in. I want to know why is it his fault, if a player refuses to give 100%? Coaching only works if a player is willing to take direction. To put all the blame on Isiah is simply not fair. Do you ever hear: “Trade Starbury” or “Fire scout Joe Q” or “Fire the PR guy” . I think its just to average Joe wanting to get rid of his own boss at his average job. Yelling “Fire Isiah” makes him/her feel empowered in some way. Oh no .. it’s not the players cuz they represent that average Joe. Marbury could throw the ball out of bounds ten times in a row.. and some moron is yelling: “Fire Isiah” . I’m sorry it’s just not that simple.. this whole fiasco does not fall on his shoulders. Oh no it’s not Marbury throwing fits and flying home. Can’t be that. Yes, agreed a great player does not translate into a good coach or GM, but he must be doing something right if he’s bringing these guys in. He drafted TMac, Marcus Camby and Mighty Mouse in TO. Not bad players I’d say. And according to SLAM he has run another league into the ground (Stern made him sell it), he is responsible for the demise of the popcorn industry and he couldn’t manage chewing gum and walking at the same time. C’mon this guy can’t be that big of a tool..plus he’s only been a coach for how long? Them Indiana teams were not all that bad. Bottom line people are dumping on the wrong guy..when your floor general is a moron that makes the coach look bad, but to blame to coach for that is just stupid.

John E. Sanford says:
FLUX, I’m sorry Zeke just isn’t a good coach or a GM. Point blank. You see what type of talent he had with the Pacers and he couldn’t even get that team past the 1st round, IN THE EAST, when the EAST truly did suck. That oughta tell you something right there.
Dec.16 at 11:19 am
FLUXLAND says:
Yes, it tells me that you know nothing about those teams. If I remember right, it had something to do with RonRon losing his lid near the end of one of those games sinking the Pacers chances into the ocean. It just pisses me off when some guy goes for 50 pts and everyone’s like: “He’s the man!” Next night he goes for 6 and everyone’s like: “Fire Isiah!” WTF?
