Baron Is Healthy … for Now
To date, Baron Davis is having the finest season of his career. He’s averaging the most points and the second-highest assists per game ever, and his productivity has the Warriors looking like a team to be reckoned with out West.
Because of his medical history, however, the question on everyone’s mind these days is: How long can Baron Davis remain healthy?
“That’s because it’s going to be hard to get anything done without him,” said Stephen Jackson. “He’s the head of this monster. We need him as much as we need the basketball to win games.”
“I don’t want to play Baron in the 40s,” Don Nelson added. “But every time I say that, I don’t do it. That is my intention. But winning always seems to be more important when you’re in the moment.”
And therein lies the conundrum: If Baron doesn’t play huge minutes, the Warriors can’t win; if he plays those same minutes, his chances of injury increase exponentially.
The Warriors are the funnest team to watch in the League; it is a chore, however, to have to hold your breath every time their leader attacks the tin.

If only the same could be said for T-mac…. get healthy soon!

The Warriors need a veteran PG for their bench.

he’ll stay healthy cause he’s in better shape than ever before.

Well, by almost all accounts, the Warriors have had one if not the hardest schedule to date. Not to mention Stack Jack’s suspension early meant way more mins than we’d like Boom to have.
If they play good ball for a while and can sustain where they are heading into mid Jan and Feb (where they have all but 1 home games) you’ll probably see his mins cut.
of course croshere, hudson, and others have been banged up plus Nellie’s ‘love’ for rookies.
It’ll be interesting, but they’re learning how to win games now and close ones at that even on the road. Now they’ll have to learn to do so while giving Boom a rest, I think it’s a part of the master plan.

Baron Davis is the best point guard in the league, period. F*ck Steve Nash and all those other point guards out there who think that they are better than B-Diddy.

I did not want to see this right now, just got tickets to watch him dunk on the likes of Steve Blake and Jarrett Jack tomorrow. I mean. Go Blazers!

B-Diddy for MVP … I just thought about it and it totally makes since, Captain Jack can be replaced by Matt Barnes, but who’s going to replace B-Diddy???

The slimmed down Baron has done wonders for his health, but I do hope they can get a better rotation going so that Nellie can ease up on the minutes. Echoing what was said above by J, the start of the season with Jax’s suspension kinda threw everything for a loop, but now that he is back and some of the young guys are playing so well, I think he will get a break soon enough. It is true though, once you are in the game you think, what difference does 5 minutes make in order to get the win and it is so damn easy to do that night in and night out and before you know it, your guys minutes have jumped from 35-40+.

I do not think Barnes can step in for Jax. He is their emotional leader and he keeps Baron’s D in check. Jax is the player that is not afraid of Baron and has the years and status to step up to him, and force him to jumpstart things when he is having an off night.

BD is playing out of his mind and is in better shape than he’s been since he’s come to the Bay. And, when they played the Suns, he pretty much proved he’s better than Nash. Look, I love Nash, but he can’t play D. Baron’s close to Nash in most categories & skills; he’s just much stronger and plays defense. It’s fantastic. Now, if only Troy Hudson could find his game, it’d really help, but, uh, I think he left it in Minnesota.

Tenorca says:
And I agree with Holly. I love Barnes; he hustles without being annoying (ala Nocioni), he keeps balls alive, he fouls HARD, and he’s stopped trying to do ridiculous sh*t. But he ain’t Stephen Jackson. You need both BD & Jack or this ship sinks. And, with slimmer BD and head-screwed-on-Jack, we might actually get it.

Hey, as lakergirl for life, I resent that, Tenorca! ahahaha I also think Jax has his head on straight and he’s got a lot of pride and determination in leading the Warriors to success.

Barring some sort of miracle, the MVP will either go to LeBron (if you need any further proof of HIS value, look at those last couple Cavs games), Dwight, or whoever goes in and cleans house at the Garden.
Dec.11 at 6:08 pm
Tenorca says:
Yeah. Sorry Holly; you seem sane. But your cohorts? Not so much. All fans whine when media doesn’t fawn at their team but a disproportionate amount of Laker (and Jazz) fans seem especially slighted, overly mopey, or just plain ridiculous. Without maligning the man’s insane talent, Kobe isn’t even the MVP of his division at this point. Russ handicapped that race and it has two contestants.

If Baron gets hurt it’s on you for putting this out in the universe. I cringe whenver the man drives hard. In the playoffs last year I thought he was going to collapse after each play.

In other news, is Boom the father of Alba’s baby? I give it a 21% chance.

Also, it’s kind of late in the game for nicknames but BD should stand for Boom Daddy. As in, “Boom Daddy showed AK-47 some parenting skills.”
