Marbury to Avoid Point Guard Duties

by Marcel Mutoni

Point Guard (def.): Typically, being quicker and shorter than even a shooting guard … a true point guard’s job is to create scoring opportunities for his team. He does this by passing and setting up plays on the court.

Stephon Marbury’s Definition: Whatever, whatever, I gots to get mines!

Translation: Starbury doesn’t own a dictionary.

That’s the only conclusion that I was able to reach today, after reading this story in the NY Post. The Knick point guard says he is going to be hoisting up even more shots this season.

“I’m looking way more for my shot this year than last year,” said Marbury. “When I’m aggressive, it just opens things up for other players as opposed to me last year, I was sitting back.”

Hmmm, I guess the enthusiam to get the rock to newly acquired teammate Zach Randolph (an astonishing black hole in his own right) has worn off.

You know, that legendary “I might average 12 dimes and 2 assists” quote from this summer is (almost) starting to kind of make sense now.
