LeBron Returns to Detroit

by Marcel Mutoni

We all know what happened the last time Cleveland paid a visit to Motown: LeBron James submitted one of those magical “I’ll never forget where I was when that happened performances, scoring 29 of his team’s last 30 points, ending up with a career Playoff high of 48, and effectively driving the final stake through Detroit’s heart as the Cavs finally conquered their biggest postseason foe two days later.

Tonight, LeBron and the Cavs return to Detroit, and the Pistons who have revenge on their minds, certainly haven’t forgotten what took place last May.

“When a guy is playing like that … you can’t let him dominate the basketball,” [Tayshaun] Prince said.

“Believe it or not, we held him to 25 points a game in the playoffs last year. The only time he killed us was in Game 5. So we trapped him and got the ball out of his hands in Game 6 and that really backfired. You have to be careful not to overreact,” Flip Saunders said.

What the Pistons decide to do defensively (and what ‘Bron does to counteract it) remains to be seen, but one thing that we can be sure of is that the atmosphere in the Palace will be electric. You’d be wise to tune in.
