Gilbert Arenas Wants the MVP

“If I’m doing what I do and I lead this team to 50-something wins, that’s MVP,'’ Arenas was saying after his Washington Wizards’ practice Thursday. “Hands down.'’

(Gilbert also kills Kobe in the article, but I’m sure none of you reading this care about that.)

Agent Zero for world’s greatest entertainer, Nobel Peace Prize, Pulitzer,Emmy, Grammy, MVP, LMNOP, whatever, just give that sh*t to him. Dude is the epitome of anti-establishment, whether Adidas likes it or not.

45 shots? Love it. And the way he was quoting stats, Bodie will have an orgasm after reading it.

Sage advice for Kobe. One thing about Gil, he usually backs up his words.

It’s nice to see Gilbert put the team’s best interest ahead of his own.

1. The stats he quoted were incorrect.
2. Tinsley thank Zero in his acceptance speech for his first and last Player of the D.A.Y., for without his matador D, Tinsley wouldn’t have had a chance.

But whatever makes you feel better about the $20,000,225 9 and 7 you got last night.

I’m fine. I have another debacle in Indiana that starts in two hours to look forward to. You’ve had to wait two days to jerk off to the point of pre-cum wishing for a last second win that wasn’t coming and then praying for the tonights game to have a happy ending.

jbn74sb says:
You know where I stand. If you’re going to do something, then do it. If not, then come out and say so, and play ball. Until either of these events happen, I’ll watch, but I won’t really care. Of course I’ll root for the Lakers, but not with the force of all of my love.

I’m just protecting my heart, Tarzan. You’ll do the same when you grow up.

I think he made some interesting points. And I don’t really see why he couldn’t win MVP if the Wiz were in the 50-55 neighborhood. Why is he any different than Nash? Neither play any D, and while Nash is a more efficient player, doesn’t he also have more turnovers on less scoring? I just think that both guys are equally valuable to their respective teams, but Nash couldn’t do for the Wiz what Gil does. Could he?

Nov.2 at 5:34 pm

jbn74sb says:
I think Nash could lead the Wiz to consecutive first round flameouts.

I know people have said this a million times before on this website, but Gil is Kanye. I bet if Kobe wins MVP, Gil will walk up to the podium and try to steal the award.

let Gilbert Arenas talk when he has achieved something related to basketball in the league…right now he has won the MVD award…Most Verbal Diarrhea

ak says:
Gibert’s got a point about Kobe’s situation. Kobe probably should have waited till next year and opt out of his contract or wait and see if someone like Kiddor Gilbert was going to join him in LA. Ah well. I just hope that wherever Kobe goes he’s on a team with better talent than he has now.

Way to back it up last night, Gil. F-cking idiot.

I think that perhaps Gil and his faithful minions might want to focus less on blogging and shredding people and more on trying to win some games…they got destroyed last night.Granted it was the Celtics but still he promised a win. This kind of thing is only fun when you’re right Gil!

Nov.3 at 2:02 pm

Zoran says:
I hope Gilbert realizes that the term “entertainer” is primarily associated with Hollywood or WWE. He runs off his mouth too much, and we saw last night what happens when things don’t go according to the script. That KG’s block on him was badazz.

Nov.3 at 2:53 pm

Mike says:
Wow and Adidas is featuring him in “we not me” spots?…this guy is a joke. All he does is talk about how great he is and puts down other players. When you actually do something in the playoffs then you can start talking ya bum…

Nov.3 at 5:42 pm

Mike says:
Arenas made an ass out of himself yesterday in Boston. He shouldn’t talk sh*t if he can’t back it up. I can’t wait till the lakers play the Wizards and Kobe destroys him..

Nov.3 at 6:52 pm

Russ Bengtson says:
Gil needs to get in line behind KG and LeBron. Among others.

Nov.3 at 11:57 pm

Liam Finnerty says:
His team got popped again tonight (that’s 0-3), and he was poor all game on both ends, Jameer ate him for dinner off the dribble. Not one top coach would take Gil. Can you imagine Deron Williams coming out and saying “If we win 55, I’m the MVP”? And Deron Williams is twice the complete player Gil will ever be RIGHT NOW. Let’s not build him up anymore. His basketball IQ is below average, always has been. Launching 30 footers first trips down the floor will never get you deep in the postseason (nor will it drive your teammates to defend at a high level). As for his lack of impact on the other end of the court, see Rondo blowing by him all game for evidence that Gil can’t defend (and isn’t really bothered about it either). The bottom line is this: there is not one team of the contenders in each conference that would be interested in Arenas if he were made available tomorrow. Realistically, what top contenders would he even start for? I can’t think of one in the top 5 of either conference. To be honest, he’d have a tough time even breaking the rotation of some of them LMAO!!!

Nov.4 at 2:21 am

Gilbert is Pathetic says:
When has he ever backed up his word? he choked in the playoffs when Lebron stepped up to him, Gilbert runs his mouth 24/7, he’s such a goof, noone takes him seriously.

Nov.4 at 3:56 am

Shane B says:
Seriously, why do so many knowledgeable basketball enthusiasts like Gilbert Arenas? I recognise his talents as a scorer, but beyond that, he does not have much else. I know people gravitate towards underdogs, which is what Arenas has been modelling himself as, but he is probably the most arrogant and self-absorbed player in the league. He may be quirky, but is that really enough to cover for the fact that he has such a flawed understanding of basketball and such a low basketball IQ? He is not a MVP-level player yet, and he might never be, but he is already comparing himself to others much more accomplished than him. What has he ever achieved? Kobe, LeBron, Wade and Nash. He is definitely not on their level. And he is even agreeable to the idea that he might be comparable to Isiah Thomas, or perhaps even better than him. Forget what Isiah is as a GM and remember how he was as a player. He is HOF material, and Arenas has the cheek to think that he is on par with that? How can someone be this deluded?

Nov.4 at 3:40 pm

Walter Olivera says:
Gilbert Arenas if you want to be an MVP then YOU NEED A BETTER TEAM, cause your TEAM SUCKS BASKETBALLS. If KOBE didnt WIN MVP when HE averaged LIKE 34 points, and had an 81 POINT GAME, then YOU WILL NEVER BE AN MVP. GIL you SHOULD NEVER THINK ABOUT WINNING MVP, GREAT PLAYERS THINK ABOUT WINNING GAMES.DUNCAN,NASH, MAGIC, BIRD, THEY never THOUGHT ABOUT WINNING THE MVP AWARD, THEY WERE SET ON SOMETHING MUCH BIGGER, A CHAMPIONSHIP.SO if you think you can win the MVP then go for it , but IN THE END YOU MIGHT NEVER WIN MVP BECUASE YOUR TEAM STILL SUCKS.:(

Walter Olivera says:
WAKE UP AGENT ZERO, YOUR’E NOT A REAL HERO.

Nov.4 at 9:43 pm

Liam Finnerty says:
Lebron and Nash level? He’s not even on Deron Williams or Baron Davis level. Their post season resumee’s wipe his clean. And that’s when players make a name. All he’s proven is that he can miss important free throws and blow his defensive assignments in crucial playoff moments. He is, as they say, gabbbbbage …

David says:
Where’s this Gil hate coming from? The guy is a great ball player and he’s entertaining. He’s like the latest Charles Barkley, and I think the NBA -no - the world, needs a Charles Barkley every few years.

Barkley started mouthing off AFTER he had done something in the league….what has gilbert done? jump off a trampoline, promote a video game and talk smack before getting smacked (KG, that was sick. Thank you!)
Gilbert is a joke, he needs to do something on the court before anyone takes him seriously….
Gilbert, this is why you were cut off the Team USA roster…

Dre'Quan Carter says:
Qhat makes Agent zero think that he can win MVP he cant even stay healthy to get his team pass the first round of the playoffs. The only thing he is doing isn putting more pressure on his team I have five words for Agent zero PUT UP OR SHUT UP.

Drumroll says:
HAHAHA. Amazing performance again. This boy is going to play himself into the Latvian basketball league if he keeps it up. I love the over-dribbling, head down, one-legged fade away Bob Cousy RUNNAH drifting into the corner while driving your shoulder INTO Vince Carter, the 2nd defender who was coming to double. That is brilliant TEAM basketball. One of Hubie Browns coaching maxims: Always, always drive TOWARD the double teamer before trying the off balance nightmare off one leg. This cat Gilbert isn’t even top 20 at his position. The nickname AGENT ZERO is more ironic than I care to explain.

Nov.10 at 12:21 am

Drumroll says:
Gilbert yet again. Inspiring his team to new heights, in reverse. Would Gilbert Arenas start for Georgetown?

Rye#5 says:
He is the most arrogant player today. He and steph are of the same breed, “The balla’s”. He has worn out the “underdog” role already to the point where it makes a lot of people sick. BOO-HOO. Drama doesnt fit you stature and character anymore. Running your mouth about your perceptions of how good you are, the things you didnt get and calling yourself a ROCKSTAR wont help your cause. Remember the 60point prediction against the trailblazers, that was PETTY and embarrassing. & Frankly he is not olympic material… in case you dont win the MVP? WHATS NEXT, GOING TO THE PRESS SAYING YOU GOT ROBBED AND DECLARE A PERSONAL VENDETTA ON EVERY TEAM. Please Gil, stop talking, youre embarassing yourself. Pathetic. just play ball. The championship deserving players like nash and duncan are doing just that minus the ego.

Nov.14 at 3:18 am

Rye#5 says:
And stop talking about how good looking you are on the cover of NBA Live & how beautiful your signature shoes are on your blog. Frankly your low cut signature shoes which you want credit for are horrible. Besides, in a week or two they will end up in the discount bin anyway. Like most adidas shoes. They’re not exactly Air Jordan’s
