I like Walton as long as he’s paired with someone who knows the game. He and Collins, or he and Hubie (though Hubie will probably punch the guy in the face by the third quarters). I like his exagerations and for some reason I like his voice.

That said, Hubie, Breen and Jeff Van Gundy are cool. I’m I the only on that thinks Sean Elliott “spoke truth to power”? He gave great analysis and often surprised when he said things about players that could conceivably cause resentment–except dat dey was true.

yeah, Sean Elliott wasn’t that bad. I miss Steve “the Snapper” Jones. He used to do a bunch for the glory days of NBA on NBC, but he also did a lot of commentary for the Blazers before he was (suspiciously) let go (for being critical of the home team).
I don’t understand how the Follower has had years to put a decent crew together and they still haven’t been able to do it.

It is sad that Bill Walton is easily the best individual on this tandem…how does stu scott become a play-by-play…that’s like craig sager or jim gray doing play-by-play…but worse. I’d rather Joe Buck and Tim mccarver do NBA than this lowly trinity…i hope they do the earlier game of the double header so i dont have to go to sleep to those voices…

ESPN is not one of your HD Channels? That is insane. Out here, they carry CBS, FOX, NBC, ABC, TNT, ESPN and ESPN2, and about 5 others in HD. I am thinking about switching to DirectTV, as they now carry about 60 channels in HD.

at least they’re not calling the game together. that’s what i thought at first, and that would have been terrible. as it is, the ESPN studio crew has been terrible for years, if not nearly invisible at times. i can’t even remember the names of some of the chuckleheads that have put in time in that revolving-door lineup. what bums me out more about that article is that they mention that Mark Jackson is returning for the ABC games… he is terrrrrible, he doesn’t add anything worthwhile to the game. and he got way too hung up on that whole “you’re better than that” crap for a while. ugh.
