Plus we were all simultaneously bemused/aghast at Bill Walton’s commentary back in the day, and honestly I’d rather have more of him. Admittedly, nobody’s got ANYTHING on Marv, but I think um everyone has a soft spot for Bill’s “thhrow it down!” and “SHTROKE IT, big man!” antics.

Bill Walton is fun to listen to, even if he’s wrong all the time. You sit there and chuckle as he say something, particularly if the game is a dog. I don’t get TNT so I haven’t seent very much of reggie. I think the best combination was NBC with Marv doing play by play and steve jones fighting with bill walton for the colour.

Bill Walton can do no wrong. The guy is so obscenely likable it doesn’t matter how downright dumb some of things he says are. Reggie Miller reminds me of a Philip Seymour Hoffman character from the 80’s. The only way I back Miller as a color analyst is if Spike is a 3rd commentator.

For the record jbn, I don’t think Walton is DUMB, just that he says dumb things. He’s the most hyperbolic man in a completely hyperbolic profession. But I find him thoroughly entertaining and he makes me a bit fuzzy in the heart.
