Refs Off the Hook; Knicks Not So Much
David Stern has no plans to fire any other refs following the investigation into L’Affaire Do-na-gy. The Knicks, because they are the Knicks, could still face punishment.

there was a story this week about a ref telling the spurs which calls they’re going to focus on this year (traveling and how big men are called when defending small(er) guys)….it was on yahoo…not sure why he’d tell the spurs specifically..

Either do something or don’t, Dave. Stop acting all insulted over every little bit of analysis and make up your f*cking mind one way or the other.

Stern’s been a disappointment for years now. DO SOMETHING. If you’re going to punish the Knicks, do it. If you’re going to make changes in the officiating system, do it. And PLEASE GOD, do SOMETHING about the whole Seattle mess. Earn your keep, Commish. It’s starting to get embarassing.

Roger Goodell (with the exception of the whole Patriots spy scandal) has been eating Stern’s lunch lately.

Stern was also like Jay-Z in that the competition was really, really bad. Bud Selig? Worst ever. Gary Bettman? No one pays attention to the NHL. And Paul Tagliabue had been coasting since Joe Montana retired.

wow, this Stern bashing needs to stop!
You honestly think the NFL is ran better? A league where drug use and delinquency run wider than a Randy Moss route?
Stern-bot is the Man-bot!

CoolWhip11, I don’t know you can defend David Stern especially the last 2-3 years. I am a huge NBA fan, but the NFL is kicking its ass. Ratings, fan interest, TV contract. David Stern is the reason for that, changing the basketball, giving refs more power w/o them having to have any accoutablity, the WNBA, just to name a couple of things he has done. Stern-bot isn’t the man when it comes to the top commish right now, and it’s time for him to step up and do something instead of just talking sh*t.

stern needs to step aside. hes old and stale. never shoulda changed the rules like that…keep em the same and the competition woulda been so much better.

he’s been running the league to the ground the past few years. laisez-faire, stern. learn that sh!t. the more you try to control something the more out of control it becomes.

Stern seems to be trying to expand his empire right now instead if fixing what needs to be fixed in the Lig.I’m actually working on a post comparing him to Uncle Joe Stalin-no joke
