Q-Rich With Some Fighting Words for the Celtics

Despite getting beaten by 40 points last night, Quentin Richardson says the Celtics will have difficulty with his squad in the very near future. I honestly don’t think Q realizes that he plays for the Knicks.

(In other Knicks news: They don’t want to pay Anucha Browne Sanders the full $11 million that she was awarded in the sexual harrasment case.)

Q should have had some fighting words with Isiah and Eddy when they started acting like Curry’s dominance over an obese thief and a 6′7 bench warmer meant the rebirth of Patrick Ewing. His displaced anger would have been cute if the Knicks hadn’t just basically played like themselves.

Am I the only one who feels sorry for the Knick here? And I’m not even a fan or anything… Knicks remind me of that one special kid who always comes home after school and asks his mom why does he have to take a small yellow bus home. But then again, I’m not sure even if Knicks are THAT smart…

Whip, i’m reading your whiteout thing, and i’m stuck on the following: how is being omnipresent and omniscient at the same time a paradox? does one rule out the other? I don’t think it’s that illogical to be everywhere AND also know everything

wow that stuff is old, too.. don’t worry, forget i even looked at it

Jeez, 10 assists and 25.9% shooting. I thought last year was tough. It’s only preseason, but then again, the Celtics came to play didn’t they?

Oct.18 at 1:42 pm

Dark says:
Just too many players on the NY squad that have no idea of ball movement or how to move without the ball. Addition by subtraction is needed - but keep D. Lee, Balkman, Q-Rich, Mardy Collins and 1-2 of the team’s “stars”.

Mark Z says:
I have no doubt The Knicks can better than that, but the Celts seem to clicking early. Running, passing, boards, blocks, steals. Just like a PRO basketball team! Incredible! Red would be proud. I’ll be at the Monday game, looking for a repeat.

Dark says:
It probably didn’t show last night, but Q is one of the few Knick players who d’s up, and the overall effort is usually there from him. The guy outrebounded Eddie Curry all last year (7.2 rpg for a small forward).

Oct.18 at 8:43 pm

Dark says:
And yes, I realize that outrebounding Eddie doesnt’ mean much, but still, 7.2 rpg.

“…and then Q realized he plays for the Knicks aka The Laughingstock of the NBA.”

Rob Paxon says:
To be fair, the Knicks aren’t as bad as that game says they are, but they’re gonna be more than a step behind the Celtics all season. Dunno why Q has to make a jackass of himself. Maybe he’s thinking the other players on his team are as serious about putting in a winning effort as he is. Way too many offensively talented, nonchalant drifters on the roster. Agree with Dark, keep those guys, one of Curry/Randolph, and Crawford and see what you can’t cook up. Or just one of those 3. Or none, though I’ll hold out hope until he retires that Crawford will put his game together. They need space for these hungry young competitors Isaiah’s drafted to win games for , only the guys he’s traded for (or signed) are in the way. His concept of building a roster is ridiculous… he’d make a fine talent scout though.

[…] Q-Rich promised fireworks after the last meeting between these two teams , and last night we got ‘em: Nate Robinson (what, you were expecting someone else?) and Tony Allen exchanged shoves after some hard fouls. SLAM ONLINE | » Q-Rich Doesn’t Fear the Celtics says:
[…] The Knicks are on national television tonight (8pm EST, TNT) as they face off against Boston. To most, it should be a cakewalk for the 11-2 Celtics, but not to Quentin Richardson. Again, he’d like for everyone to know that he’s not afraid of the Big 3. “It’s not that big a deal to us,” Richardson said of facing the 11-2 Celtics. “It’s like the media makes more of The Big Three and all of them. We’re not in awe of them. They ain’t won no championships. They have a good record right now, but that don’t matter. Dallas showed that [last season].” […]
