Nellie’s fu(kn nuts…I understand wanting steam off the bench, but it seems like he wants to bench his “best player” and his “best 2 guard”…aren’t you supposed to start your best players? Or is this like a lets bench Ben Gordon cause it’s all in his head that he plays better off the bench?

As per the topic, funny that Al’s the team’s best player, but not one of the THREE co-captains. Oh, that Nellie.

Oh, and Jared: See the Knicks and David Lee.

russ, you want to give me less work to do? don’t let me stand in your way, dude.

I’ve been seein it for years (2) Russ…why would we start David Lee tho when we can start Malik Rose? Or even start Jerome James so he can clock his average of 3 mins, tire himself out with turnovers and fouls, and fall asleep on the bench…

Energy during the slept on 2nd quarter, is a huge boost to your winning possibilities. That’s why the 6th man award is an important one. Plus, you want to start a lineup with good balance (i.e. don’t let the McGradys get hot), and finish with your best players.

who else is the tri-captain besides baron and whoo?
and yeah, i don’t know why it makes sense to have TWO of their best players off the bench. maybe it’s to sustain their run and gun style even in the 2nd units?

On a team like this who is starting can be very overrated. It’s not necessarily a bad idea to have one of your best players come in off the bench if it leaves a well-balanced and effective startin(Randolph/Crawford SF)g line-up… especially if that guy comes in for multiple positions as Harrington would. He also has a track record of being successful in a role that not every player is optimal at. This team runs and guns and needs to rotate its line-up because of it, so it doesn’t matter… this is probably for flexibility’s sake and in the end isn’t going to effect minutes much.

He’s not our best player, he had a solid camp in Hawaii…that’s it. So why not take him off the bench? Maybe he’d shoot better. Although it does look like he’s improved his FT’s.
I still believe Monta will be gone sooner than later so maybe Nellie is trying to get his stock up.

Nellie might start Barnes or Pietrus at PF. I know the Warriors plays small, but this doesn’t make any sense. Good luck guarding Garnett on the block, fella’s!
