Links: Here Come The Hawks

A quick link…

by Lang Whitaker

Real quick, because we’re shipping SLAM issue 114 today and things are a little frenzied, but I started my Hawks.com column today. I even got a few pokes at Billy Knight in there.

Heading out to Bulls/Nets tonight so we’ll have some game notes from that tomorrow…

Can we get a stat count to see how many more hits you bring into the Hawks website??

Tarzan's Jane says:
Yes, that would be awesome to see how a SLAM mag man helps an NBA teams website out.

white hot eboy says:
I see Lang Whitaker, Atlanta Hawks head coach, coming soon. Maybe President of Basketball Operations, too.

ANything Hawks related bring Myung back from the dead. I remember him doing the bulk of the commenting when they were first enabled…

It should be in the Garden State High School Sports Hall Of Fame.

Lang, Billy knows people so you better be careful.

Myung says:
I’m a one trick pony, Bodie (actually, I’ve been a hardcore NBA fan since about 1987 or so…and so I’d like to think I know more about basketball than just what takes place here in A-Town… but my heart beats fastest for Atlanta’s Air Force). I’m going to crawl back into my coffin now and await more Hawks posts.

Hey Lang, What about Tree Rollins and Mookie Blaylock?

Lang Whitaker says:
Co Co, I actually like Billy, as a person, at least. Really nice man, even if he does try to crush your hand every time he shakes it.

Russ Bengtson says:
Thanks for reminding me of Ed Gray and Chris Crawford. Yeesh.

Oct.31 at 4:08 pm

Myung says:
…a little disappointed not to see any mention of Mike Glenn calling games for our local broadcast… and nothing about Snoop Graham… or Plastic Man, Stacey Augmon… but other than that, I think you covered all the bases. I’m glad you dropped Chris Crawford’s name in there. He was one of my top five favorite white Hawks of all time, right there with Dan Dickau.

jbn74sb says:
Ed Gray was a phenomenal high school and college player. As a pro, well, he was on the Hawks.

I’d dress as Chris Crawford tonight, but I can’t figure out how to push my eyes six inches further back into my head.

Oct.31 at 4:36 pm

Co Co says:
Well if you keep taking shots at him Lang, he’s going to succeed in crushing your hand or head. You can’t question the man who knows more about basketball than EVERYONE!

No Rasheed Wallace mention?

Just got home from the Hawks season opener. One good thing about a sell-out? Crowd noise and energy. One bad thing? Traffic. 1,2,3,playoffs. We’re on our way…

Nov.4 at 10:13 pm

Myung says:
I know it was just one game… and tonight’s game isn’t over… but we are looking good. A big home win vs. last year’s top regular season team and a great showing (win or lose) against the best of the East (on their floor). Marvin Williams? Early M.I.P. candidate… go Hawks!
